Quick question for once I finally get around to doing my Ranger test (I promise that when I am a Ranger I will do my duty). Do Rangers have to have bought the Ranger items from the Shop in order to supply Trainers with them?

No, the Park supplies them 8D. It'd be messed up if we made Rangers buy these items with their own money lol.

I just wanted to confirm something. Is there a fixed time within which you need to reply to your individual RP, after the Ranger posts, and if you don't post within that limit, you have to leave the Park or something like that? Or can you post whenever you like? Couldn't find this anywhere, but maybe I didn't look so carefully

Park Rules state you will be escorted out of the Park if you do not post for four days.

Ah that's not too good. Thanks though. We can still post before hand though that we won't be able to post if we're going somewhere right?

I assume you mean giving the Ranger forewarning that you may not be able to post. If that's the case, then the answer is yes. As long as the Ranger has a few days' advance notice (two being the minimum) that you won't be able to post for x number of days, the Ranger can put your RP on 'hold'. If you're going to be gone for a long period of time, like a week or so, the Ranger can grab another Trainer while they wait for you to get back.

Mhmm, thanks. One last question. You'll still be able to choose three Pokemon from the ones you've captured even if you have to leave after not posting for four days, right?

Yes. If you captured at least one Pokemon, you can still claim it after you return. Just make sure you let your Ranger know so they can verify and all that stuff.

Speaking of which, I'm going to make a new Sticky in the RP board where Rangers will post stating what Pokemon their Trainers are claiming. This way we can easily keep track of the Pokemon a Trainer tries to claim, and also make sure they don't claim too many.

I have a question.

Are we allowed to use berries in the park? You know, the ones that heal statuses and stuff. I saw somewhere written that "you have to get hold items and other stuff from elsewhere" or something, but nothing about whether you can use them :x

Also, about Pickup or more in general, can the Ranger "reward" a trainer with some items? (I'd be leaning on finding berry bushes or similiar, depending on the place, but I really dunno about this :x

Something I was reminded of by the Pickup thing DG posted. I was having a look at the ol Park Mart and saw Honey for sale. Maybe we could have it in the new Park Shop as well, to attract Pokemon or something of that kind?

1) Yes, you can use Berries in the Park. However, Hold Items are not able to be used; in the heat of battle, it's unrealistic to expect a Pokemon to hold on to something. Therefore, Berries will either have to be used before or after a battle. For Berries that only activate during certain conditions such as if a Mon's HP is at 1/3 or less, these can be used during battle (just have your character give the Mon the Berry). However, depending on your post quality, this may or may not work.

2) Pickup can only be used once every week to get items during battle; for the Park, we'll say Pickup can only find Park items (excluding Special Maps, PokePlayers, and Digital Cameras) three times per visit. After each battle is completed, Rangers will take into consideration the Trainer's posts, and if they feel the quality is good enough, they may decide to let Pickup activate.

Hmmmm. Well, I can discuss it with some of the others and see what they think, but in all honesty I don't think we need it. After all, it would really only be useful in the Woods, and to a lesser extent, the Botanic Gardens. Unless we add more Mon to the list, but really, there aren't many we can realistically add. You'd be better off buying a PokePlayer, then getting the Discs you want in order to make a Pokemon you want have better chances of appearing. It's more expensive than Honey, but much more versatile.

I have an idea for something that you could do in the park. It would be like a mix of the main rps and individuals. You could have 2 people(or maybe more) who sign up together to do it, have an rp together but with no one else except their rangers. that way they're guaranteed to be able to interact with someone and they can rp with their friends. The battles could be double battles all the time, with each person having one of the pokemon assigned as theirs (only they can catch it) as predetermined by their rolls, but they can help battle each others assigned pokemon.
Just thought it would be a cool idea.

If the trainers were so inclined, there's no rule saying that two people can't go together in the main RP- just state the same place and ask your Ranger to let you meet up.

However, double battles are a whole different thing. They'd be too hard to manage, as each Ranger could only control one of the Pokemon in battle and you'd have to wait twice as much to know the outcome of a battle, as you need both ranger to post their moves. Besides, double battles like this don't really allow for much Teamwork, as it's hard to keep in track the two pokemon working together in different posts by different people.

True, but it could be done if you have one ranger escorting two people through the park at the same time.

Not really a matter of "could be done" or not, but a matter of "how much work" you put in as a Ranger. Covering up one Trainer's Main RP/Individual RP wise is pretty much hectic enough. If you really want to do Group RPs(with your friends/etc) or sorts, then you'd be better off waiting for a Mission to pop up or something.
