World of Nightmares [SU; Open]

I haven't started a roleplay in a long time.. Figured I may as well give it a shot while there's actually an idea in my head. xD

This is based slightly off of Nighmare on Elm Street, by the way. Also, I hate my title. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'd be happy to hear it.

Plot
Dreams... Imaginary worlds formed by the creativity and imagination of the mind. Your dreams can include anything, and end in many different ways. Some dreams are pleasant, others horrifying. The dreams which scare us have been labeled as nightmares. Due to hidden fears buried deep within our hearts and minds, we sometimes have nightmares, created from those fears as our minds roam freely. Fortunately, no matter how horrible a nightmare is, you can never feel the pain of it, and you always wake up ... until now.

A strange epidemic seems to have broken out among this generation's humans. Many have begun to have strange, realistic nightmares in which pain, along with other sensations can be felt. All across the country, people have been waking in terror, mental and physical scars haunting them. There have been numerous tales of victims waking with gashes, cuts or even deep puncture wounds adorning their bodies. There seems to be no limit when it comes to their nightmares. Rare cases have been reported in which the victim died in their sleep, due to severe wounds dealt to the body. Some have tried staying awake to avoid their nightmares, but this has been proven impossible, and, in the end, simply leads to extreme fatigue and insanity. Although all nightmares seem to be different, they all have the same effect, and it appears that they all link together in one way or another as well...

Your Role
As one of the victims of these horrific nightmares, you must defeat your own fears in order to find out the truth - this link that connects all of the incidents. You must first find allies; there is obviously no way you can defeat this on your own. Teaming up against fear and insanity, you must fight your way to the end and put a stop to all of these deadly nightmares. But remember... once you fall asleep, you may not ever wake up again...

Notes
-You can only "fight" your nightmares if you're asleep. The problem doesn't occur in the real world.

-All that can be seen of the nightmares in the real world is the wounds being inflicted on the host.

-After falling asleep so many times, it is possible that you can't wake up again until your nightmare is over. (No, this doesn't mean you're dead)

-If you die in your dreams, you die for real.

1) No Godmodding
2) No spamming
3) No flaming
4) No bunnying without the other roleplayer's consent.
5) Foul language to a minimum. I don't want characters to be cursing three or four times every time they speak.
6) Romance is allowed, but no more than PG-13, please.
7) Violence is allowed (of course), but try not to get too gory.
8) No one-liners.
9) Proper grammar and spelling is required.
10) Let me know if you will be away, so that I won't have to remove you from the roleplay for inactivity.

Well, that's about it. I know I could have added more detail to the plot, but this is all I managed to come up with this time around. I'm open to ideas or suggestions for improvement of the roleplay.

I'll make my own SUs later. The roleplay will start when we get at least five people.

oh hell yeah! this sounds so awesome! i like how it's different from all the other rps lol. i'll finish the history tomorrow when im not tired.

Name: Ashley Gilbert

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Personality: Ashley is kind-hearted, very spirited and energetic girl, which sometimes clashes with the more stoic group members. She looks up to her mother as a role model, looking up to her whenever she needs advice. Ashley can act child-like and playful in many ways when the moment is necessary. She tries to maintain a positive outlook and often refers to gloomy or annoying people as "boring people". Her cheerful outlook often makes a stark contrast, however, when she is sad or upset and despite her outwardly happy exterior, she seems to carry some insecurities, particularly when it comes to her own future. These insecurities sometimes cause her to act jealously towards those that know their path or have obtained what they want out of life. When voicing these worries to her aunt, she is reassured that her own adventure would arrive one day. When Ashley has to be serious though, she puts her child-like personality far back behind her and is ready for a fight. Once you get her mad, she lashes out like an uncontrolled tornado. Ashley is the kind of person that no one should mess with, because she will continue to fight until she wins. Even though with all the nightmares Ashley has been having, she tries her best to maintain her sweet and hopeful personality.

Greatest Fear: burning alive, being stabbed and drowning

History: Ashley had pretty much a normal childhood. She never knew who her real parents were because they had died in a plane crash when she was only a baby. All these years she had no idea that she was adopted, until one night when she was fourteen her adoptive parents had told her. Since Ashley always thought that they were her real parents, she didn't look at them differently. Not too long after her fifteenth birthday, her parents had died from an car crash. The car drove off the bridge and crashed into the lake. Ashley was in the back seat and her parents were in the front. The only thing she remembers is that she was sinking down in the water, passed out, then waking up in the hospital. The doctors said that it was a miracle that Ashley had survived. Her mother's younger sister, Jenna, moved into Ashley's house and took care of her, along with Ashley's little brother Jeremy. There was only a two year difference between the two.

When Ashley was sixteen, she started getting these weird nightmares. After she had spoken about her dreams to her aunt, she said that they could be caused by the death of Ashley's parents. It made sense it Ashley so she stuck to that conclusion. A few weeks after Ashley's seventeenth birthday, she had a dream that completely changed her conclusion. Ashley was stabbed twice in her nightmare on both sides of her stomach, which caused her to wake up from the pain. When Ashley had woken up, she rushed into the bathroom and pulled up her shirt, seeing the two stab marks. After waking up her aunt, Jenna rushed Ashley to the hospital where she had to get stitches. The doctors said that Ashley must of grabbed something and started cutting herself in her sleep, but Ashley knew that wasn't the case. About a year had passed and it was the beginning of Ashley's senior year in high school. One day in class she had fallen asleep, having another nightmare. The nightmare was so bad that she had screamed in fear and ran out of class. Her aunt decided that it was best if they all had moved away. She thought that maybe if Ashley was in a different house then the nightmares would stop, but they hadn't. Now Ashley is a new student at the local high school, wishing that the nightmares would just stop.

Other: She has a large sized scar on both sides of her stomach from a stabbing nightmare she had. Ashley tries her best to hide them.

Name: Ichiru Kagami

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Personality: Ichiru is pretty quiet most of the time. He's almost always calm, and it seems like hardly anything bothers him. He can come off as a very serious person to most people, although, once you really get to know him, he may crack a joke every now and again. He's known to be somewhat blunt, but knows when to keep his mouth shut in order to keep from hurting someone. Although he can be annoyed easily, Ichiru doesn't get mad often. However, if he does, it's best to steer clear of him until he's better. When angry, Ichiru can sometimes become violent, depending on how angry he is or what it was that angered him.
Underneath his seemingly harsh outward appearance, Ichiru is really a kind, caring and loyal person. His outward attitude may not suggest it, but he can't stand to see someone in pain - physically or emotionally, and will go to any length to help them.

Appearance: Ichiru has jet black hair that reaches to the nape of his neck and is always a ruffled mess. His bangs come down a little past his nose and sway to the left, almost always covering his left eye. His eyes are a piercing emerald green, and his skin is somewhat pale with seemingly no blemishes anywhere.

Name: Kiseki Kagami

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Personality: Kiseki is a very cheerful and energetic person. He loves to meet new people and make new friends, and hates being alone. He's very sensitive for a guy, and can come off as a bit childish for his age, but it makes him all the more lovable. There are times when it seems as though he's a little dense, or not exactly the "brightest" person around, but Kiseki is actually very smart. He gets scared easily, which makes him a bigger target in his dreams. Although he is very stubborn, Kiseki doesn't like to fight unless he has to. In most cases, he only fights if it's in self-defense (as it should be). Kiseki trusts very easily as well. Unless he is given a reason not to, he will trust someone very quickly. Loyalty being one of his best traits, Kiseki will never abandon a friend, and will instantly come to the aid of someone in need - even a stranger.

Appearance: Kiseki's appearance completely mirrors that of his twin brother's. His hair is jet black and falls to the nape of his neck, and is just as messy as Ichiru's. His bangs, however, sway to the right rather than the left. His eyes are a piercing emerald green as well, although, unlike his brother, Kiseki's every emotion is displayed in his eyes. His skin is equally pale and blemish-free.

His apparel consists of a dark red hoodie, a white t-shirt underneath and a pair of black denim jeans. Pockets adorn both sides of the legs, making them look more like cargo pants. His feet are clad in red and black sneakers.

Greatest Fear(s): Losing his loved ones, drowning, anything involving knives, suffocating (he's scared of basically anything that is painful, really)

Personality: He's good natured and very friendly and easily interacts with others, but hates being in large groups. If you get on his bad side, he'll hold a grudge against you, and he becomes a very different person, with a very dark attitude and a want to break you in half. He has a strange mental problem in which he becomes a very dark and mean person if someone does something he strongly dislikes.

Greatest Fear: Due to being a jet pilot, his greatest fears are engine failure, blacking out during high-G stunts, or multicolored infrared missiles.
History: Sylus is a jet pilot in the NATO air force, and flies an advance plane called a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. He also had a few years of combat training as a US Marine when he lived in the US, so he is very strong and can stand up to his fears.

Name: Lani Hyland

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Personality: Lani, these days, isn`t quite her usual self. Rattled by self induced sleep deprivation, the girl exhibits many traits that are common in those that fail to get enough slumber time. Her once notable memory is a shadow of what it used to be, Lani is very forgetful, especially of the minor details. Actually, more often than not, the girl downright misses these, her alertness and attention span being rather low and she is easily distracted. Tying into that is her ability to effectively lose or misplace things, which was a problem she never really had before. Despite being a smart person, Lani is quite slow these days and usually has to be explained things a few times before it clicks.

When Lani has an issue or fear, she tends to avoid this instead of facing it head on. She may go to extreme measures to accomplish this, as clearly seen by her reluctance to sleep longer than a few hours a day. Most of the fears she`s actually conquered are school based such as writing an exam…

Despite it`s large effect, Lani hasn`t totally been comsumed by her paranoia. Her kind and caring nature has yet to be warped, and she does her best to be a good person. She is rather accepting of others, not letting differences stand in the way of co-operation and friendship. However, because she can be shy when first meeting new people, Lani actually hasn`t many friends. Lani`s over emotional tendencies, which are only amplified with the lack of sleep, can either be a curse or blessing depending on the situation at hand…

Appearance: Lani, simply put, looks tired. Her sleepy-looking hazel eyes almost speak of a longing for a good night`s slumber, and the increasing apparentness of dark circles around them only add to their unspoken message. Her skin is quite pale and the girl makes no efforts to mask this, choosing not to wear make-up of any kind. More often than not, Lani is found wearing a thick sweater or hoodie, usually in various greens or blues. Her favourite way to dress, however, would mirror the top(s) depicted, in combination with loose-fitting black or dark azure jeans.

Of course, Lani isn`t a total copy of the image. Her hair, instead of being some sort of medium brown, is actually a shade of blonde called “Dark Ash”, which is basically what is known as “dirty blonde”. For some reason, however, Lani hates this term, but usually doesn`t voice this discontentment.

Greatest Fear: most big dogs, needles, being blinded, suffering (either herself or those close to her or anybody really)

History: Hehe, for this RP, I`ll let her past come out during the RP… (for now anyway, I may add something here later)

Other: Lani never grew out of her somniloquy (sleep-talking), which in her case, is quite understanble and can be intense...
