History: Kilo’s yet another street-grown riff-raff, having lost the opportunity to have a loving mother and safe life. He knows who his father is, though he wishes he didn’t. Jorin Allwin operates a largely successful but highly illegal dragon trade between several big cities. The dragon trade could be compared to the puppy mills we know in our own world, though there’s a little more stealing or dragon-knapping involved. Kilo had no choice but to get tangled up in that mess. His father was the only family he knew, but the older man hardly gave his own son much attention; he loved money far too much. Kilo was nearly another worker, a means to get his way. A mere pawn, if you will. From childhood to his teenage years, Kilo was forced to work for his father.

The boy’s heart was shattered then hardened as he became surrounded with abused and feral dragons. Most were very rare and valuable domestic breeds, though Jorin specialized in the illegal trade of Dominion dragons. Yet each was harshly penned, poorly groomed, and left unloved, much like Kilo himself. The boy became disillusioned that there was little good in the world, that whatever hope could be found was vain. Several times, he ran away from home and tried to fight for survival on the streets, though every time he ended back at his father’s doorstep.

In time, he learned to be a skillful thief. At first, he only stole what he needed to survive (and usually only during those times when he tried to run away), but his father began to have other ideas for such talents. The greedy man began to assign his son the dangerous task of stealing Dominion dragon eggs from wealthy families. Kilo flat-out refused, the only time he ever did, and as a result his father was enraged. To pound some obedience into his son, Jorin had him thrown into a cage with a feral and foul-tempered Lyndworm. It attacked the defenseless boy, whose desperate cries were ignored by his father. In the end, Jorin’s workers finally pulled him out just in time to escape the suffocating breath breathed by the Lyndworm. Kilo walked away from it alive, but with scars and a newfound hatred towards his father. Grudgingly, he stole the eggs that Jorin wanted, but the boy became determined to finally escape that dreadful life.

While working within the dragon mill one day, Kilo discovered a Burst youngling shivering in a cage in a severely anemic state. The workers had left her for dead, since she had a birth defect in her right hind leg that would bring down her value on the market. Kilo, however, felt something stir within him at the sight of her, and took her in. He brought her back to health, and forged a strong bond with her. Both of them were rejects in a very unkind world; a certain understanding flowed between them. He named her Iria, and began raising her himself. As she grew, Kilo felt something he never thought he’d feel again: a spark of hope. Together, they just might find their way in the world… They might just be able to run away together…

And eventually, they did. When she was big enough to ride, they flew as far away from his father’s operations and found work as a daredevil for a traveling circus. The folks who ran it were sympathetic, and didn’t question the boy about his origins (and how he even found a Burst). They only knew that he had great talent with his dragon, and that he needed a job. While it had its dangers, being a performer gave them what the two wanted: a safe home, an income, and freedom.

Other: Don’t pronounce his name like “Key-low”, ‘kay? Awesome, thanks! ^^


– Dragon

Name: Iria

Dominion/Domestic: Dominion

Species: Burst/Energy Dragon

Age: adolescent

Gender: Female

Appearance: Iria is a silver-white color, with faint tiger stripes of a darker gray. Her eyes are amber yellow. She’s long and lithe, though a little on the small side when it comes to build. She could easily be mistaken for a domestic dragon, but that helps to disguise her since she’s, well, illegally owned. A strange birth defect in her right hind leg makes the limb a little stiff, so when on land she tends to limp.

Time owned: Five years

Personality: Iria is very motherly towards Kilo, though around other humans or dragons, she’s really rather shy. She doesn’t try to be mean or impolite to others, but like Kilo she is very slow to trust. Iria is almost constantly at Kilo’s side; when she’s not near him, she grows distressed (yeah, she has separation issues). Also, she grows uncomfortable around other dragons as she doesn’t know how to act around them, how to interact, ect.

History: Iria’s mother rather old and sickly, but was forced into breeding by Jorin’s trade. Iria didn’t get to know her at all, though, because as soon as she hatched she was forcefully torn from the nest. The early years of her life was spent in cold, hard cage away from the life a dragonling is suppose to have. She couldn’t play with any other dragons, couldn’t learn from them, and did not receive any love at all. Within time, her caretakers began to realize that she had a birth defect. Disappointed, they assumed that she was of no real use to them, so they stopped feeding her. Though she fought on through the starvation with a strong will, a hatchling could only last so long. Just as she was beginning to give up, Kilo found her and rescued her. Now, she’s determined to return the favor, and will give anything for her now-close friend.

Age: Presumed to be in his thirties.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Zarathos can easily be described as severe. He is incredibly thin, to the point of looking unhealthy, with a thin scar running from above his left eye down through his right. His black hair is slicked back, with a floppy spike hovering above his right eye, stopping just above his chin. His eyes are unsettling in that his irises are yellow. Usually, Zarathos sports a white lab coat with black fringes and a pair of white pants, a black shirt beneath his thin white coat. He also sports a pair of black boots and a belt clipped around the outside of his lab coat rather than his waist. He often wears a pair of thin, square glasses. It's debated among many whether he looks creepy or attractive.

Personality: Professor Zarathos Aurritellos is, without a doubt, the smartest individual born in generations. A master of many different sciences and mathematics, among other things, he is the head of almost every major scientific movement of the day, from genetics to the switching of Arcane to other power sources. His laboratory has brought forth medicines, technologies and research that have shaped the world today in many fields, and is seen as a hero of the world. To everyone, he presents a friendly, formal persona, and seems to have humanity's best interest at heart. It's often noted, much to his annoyance, that he is single, and as such crowds of women (in addition to reporters) tend to gather in droves around his Point Lookout home when he's there.

Occupatoin: (<-- Might want to fix that... XD) World's leading scientist in the fields of Arcane Experimentation, Genetics Research, Weapons Development, and other projects.

Dragon(s): None

History: One of the most well known men on earth, Professor Aurritellos is a scientific genius the likes of which haven't been seen since Einstein. His inventions are impossible to count in number, and he has consistently won the Nobel Prize in every science save astronomy (Which he does not care for) for the past five years, since his first papers on the use of alternate energy sources and his model of a complex energy system infinitely more reliable were published. Since then, he quickly became the richest and arguably most well known man on Earth, working on countless scientific pursuits. His inventions have changed the way life is led; from the introduction of bacterium to readily break down garbage and produce a watermelon scent to a vaccine that can rid the body of cancers in the course of an hour, down to his models of alternate fuel choices.

Professor Aurritellos has recently been hired to head the military's switch from Arcane to alternate fuel sources, as well as developing new technologies to save more lives on the battlefield in the field of medicine. He resides in the building his laboratories are in, a towering research facility in the heart of Maryland, most well known by its name of simply 'The Institute', where the greatest minds of science are invited to freely work. The professor's labs are off limits, but there is no great outcry for his lab to be revealed. He has a vacation home in and owns the lighthouse of Point Lookout, where part of his team is investigating the soil compounds for prospective fuel sources. It is theorized that a wealth of natural gas deposits are available beneath the surface of the marshy area. Because of the huge numbers of people who crowd around his Point Lookout home, those who know him personally are aware he has a network of tunnels beneath his house so as not to wade through swarms of people to get to his research sites and underground laboratory (As the computers he uses require a cooler temprature than most of the area, his laboratory there is actually directly beneath the lighthouse).

Other: The professor is prone to sickness, and often retires to his Point Lookout home to rest and recover, though he still carries out his tests in the underground lab there as if he were in his main lab.

Looks like Sabi beat me once again. Thanks for pointing out my spelling mistake, metal. No one seemed to notice or failed to inform me. I fixed it in the post that had the sign up sheet along with my own sign ups. As Sabi said, your SU is all good. She already said the outcome, so I'm off to update the lists.

Just watched How to Train Your Dragon just last night for the first time. Definitely an awesome animated movie.

Also, hope no one minds if I play an antagonist in this. ID Saraibre Ryu seems to like how I take on these roles. :P

Standing 6’3” and weighing roughly around 200 pounds, Kenneth has a fair to tan skin tone, with wild jet-black hair that slightly covers his dark brown eyes. Very often, he’s wearing a smirk just from the thrill of the life he leads. Meanwhile, Kenneth also has a strong muscular build, able to throw a mean and nasty punch whenever the moment arises. He also doesn’t “play by the rules” when it comes to fighting because he thinks the only ones that code according to some code or honor are just idiots. He’ll kick someone in the groin and then in the teeth if he so feels like it.

Kenneth wears a dark brown leather jacket over a black t-shirt. Meanwhile, he wears dark gray cargo pants, accompanied with a black leather belt. He also wears a sports watch with a cracked LCD display. However, the watch still works.

When it comes to persona, Kenneth is extremely perceptive and accurate, armed with a keen eye and an attention for detail. He’s also fast and cunning, agile, and doesn’t see an ounce of bad karma for the kind of crap he pulls. Often, he’s got the luck of a devil, though he won’t admit to it.

Kenneth carries a Desert Eagle magnum, a sawed-off shotgun, and a PSG1 sniper rifle, which he typically uses for killing dragons. Each weapon has notches for every kill its made.

Personality: Self-centered, arrogant, and ruthless, in Kenneth’s head, he’s the best and there’s no denying that. If someone gets in his face and gives him an attitude, he takes it as an open invitation to beat them down and be a total asshole about it. In the heat of combat, he’ll taunt his enemies, play a little cat and mouse with them if he’s in the mood, and leave them like a train wreck once he’s done with them. Needless to say, he doesn’t have an ounce of sympathy.

While he often works for the buck, he’s grown to like his continuing employer, as he’s often given the freedom to handle jobs “however he likes best,” and as a troublemaking mercenary, he appreciates that. Very often, he gets a job to “raise hell” and blame it on the use of arcane technology, trying some way to make it related to the crime.

Typically, Kenneth uses his magnum and shotgun for taking out people or smaller animals like dogs if they get to be a problem. Or he’ll use the PSG1 for taking out these kinds of targets at a distance. When it comes to dragons, however, Kenneth knows they’re a little more dangerous. He often makes his move when dragons are attempting to attack with their teeth or a breath weapon. Very often, dragons don’t realize their fatal mistake until its too late. Kenneth has killed at least four dragons just by getting in some well-aimed shots right into their open mouths. He’s also exceptionally good at shooting dragons right in the eye, something he finds more effective than taking out their wings.

For pleasure, Kenneth likes gambling, and is very skilled at cheating at cards, and killing sore losers when they get pissed and demand their money back. He’s also done the same things at high-grade casinos, AND has killed casino bouncers when they “tried to take him out back” for suspected cheating after winning too much. For Kenneth, one of his favorite pastimes is robbing the rich, and giving it to himself. When he’s not gambling or on the job, he’s involved with illegal firearm trafficking, smuggling, and inciting gang wars to boost weapon sales and/or contract payment.

Background: Though one would never think so, Kenneth was considered a “gifted” child during his younger years and spent a lot of time in advanced placement classes. In truth, he was extremely talented at cheating on standardized tests, believing “something so stupid should be taken advantage of.” If he couldn’t get what he wanted through physical manipulation, he got it through smooth talk, deceptive charm, and talented duplicity. His teachers were often put right into the fog of it, never suspecting Kenneth of being a cheat.

Ever since he was young, Kenneth wanted to be a doctor, but mostly for the reason that he didn’t trust anyone else to diagnose him, so he figured he’d be better off doing it himself. Making that the focus of his college years, Kenneth obtained a near perfect score after cheating on the MCAT, though he missed two questions on purpose just to diminish the suspicion on him. Throughout medical school, Kenneth actually did do exceptionally well even without cheating. However, after graduation, that’s where things truly went south. No medical practice or hospital had room for interns, and because of that, he was never able to build a residency to ultimately become a doctor. So, he turned toward where he was needed more with mercenary work. Surprisingly, he used his knowledge of bodily anatomies now for ending lives rather than saving them. And because he had the precision of a surgeon without the practice, he was an exceptional marksman as well.

And that was when Kenneth’s mercenary and assassin contracts had begun. His employers noticed he was exceptional at performing his objectives, but Kenneth insisted that he did it “his way” and assured there would be no liability to his contractors. Employers that were jackasses about this often found themselves getting the middle finger stuck in their face. Meanwhile, offhand, Kenneth did gun trafficking and smuggling when contracts seemed to be going dry. And for pleasure, Kenneth got better at cheating at cards and getting away with it.

Kenneth got his fire dragon, Scotch, after a gang leader, an employer named Nax Hanrox allowed him to “borrow” the dragon simply because Kenneth didn’t have one, and he needed the job done quickly. Kenneth shrugged and took the fire dragon to perform the hit, and naturally, the fire dragon didn’t have a problem with Kenneth, even though Kenneth had zero experience riding dragons. Once he arrived, Kenneth performed the job successfully, killing the target and brought back his wedding ring as proof of the hit. However, when he returned to claim his reward, provide the proof, and return the dragon, he found Nax Hanrox assassinated himself, as well as the gang’s hub a charred ruins. Knowing he wouldn’t ever be getting the reward, he left, but he decided to keep the dragon and he named him “Scotch,” after his favorite drink.

Now, Kenneth is doing the dirty, underground work of Getrra Co, who pays Kenneth some of the best money he’s ever received.

Other: While Kenneth is naturally skilled with firearms, he does have a strong medical knowledge and is capable of performing first aid and even on-the-spot surgery if he really needs it. However, more often than not, this knowledge is used more for ending lives, not saving them.

Scotch is 40 feet long, covered with rock-hard crimson scales on his back and sides, while having white scales on his abdomen. Meanwhile, he has massive white leathery wings, black claws and talons that are razor-sharp, and a three-pronged tail capable of inflicting lacerations.

Time Owned: Four years

Personality: For the most part, Scotch is indifferent toward most situations and people, often wearing a “piss off and leave me alone” kind of personality that doesn’t tolerate being bothered. Some would consider him to be moody, but in truth, its more of a matter of being very introverted and despising social networking. He also doesn’t try to seek a mate because he really doesn’t feel like dealing with one or dealing with raising young.

He’s not exactly friends and best buddies with Kenneth, but he’s the only one he has so he figures he might as well get used to him. Meanwhile, the kinds of things that Kenneth does don’t personally bother him, just as long as he doesn’t pay for the kind of things he does. Fortunately, barely even Kenneth himself pays for the kind of crap he pulls, so it all works in the end.

History: Scotch was originally raised from a whelp by Nax Hanrox, leader of a gang called the Hexagrams. Even though the gang didn’t own many dragons due to the fact they preferred the use of motor vehicles, Nax figured there would be some use for the dragon as a “very big guard dog” that would kill and piss on anyone that bothered him. Unfortunately for Nax, said “guard dog” was off performing business with Kenneth, and wasn’t there when Nax was gunned down like an animal and his gang hideout was lit up like a Christmas tree.

Upon arriving back, Scotch saw the burnt hideout and immediately knew one of two things would happen. Either Kenneth would abandon him and he’d end up on his own, or Kenneth would take him in and claim him as abandoned property. And so the later happened and the rest was history.

Other: Kenneth doesn’t fight from Scotch’s back, knowing he “couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn” while flying around. He will, however, be there for Kenneth when he needs him to fight another dragon, or well he needs something lit up.
