So, I'll join this only because I was into Minecraft before 4chan made it trendy. =]

I love my little hacked version that I can play with no interruptions. <3

BetterLight isn't worth using until the darkness problem is fixed. :(

I downloaded a texture pack called shortstuff7's clean design pack today. It's a lot easier to look at for long periods of time compared to the default.

Everything becomes darker than it should be with BetterLight on, or it's just me. I miss when it was good ol' AO, so I could still have my blocky shadows while I also had a bit of a shadow on each block. Minecraft looks better with blocky shadows in my opinion anyway.

I'm tempted to download a mod that allows water to glow faintly and another to fix the color of sidegrass, but I'll wait until Notch changes those.

Idk, I don't notice the different between BetterLight and not. I like it because the soft lighting and it's more realistic-looking which is cool I guess.

A mod for making water glow a bit seems good though, got a link?

It's in the texture pack thread on the official Minecraft forums, I think. Most of the good mods are in there too for whatever reason. Look here.

I'm thinking about using the Wildgrass mod someday.

Anything made of Legos is instant win! I laughed when I saw that pack. heh.

Yep. I mine and craft stuff. What I like most about this game is the ability to explore seemingly limitless earth. To build anything imaginable. And to be happy at the smallest thing, like finding your first Pumpkin.

As far as textures, I still have many of the default in place and edited in some Painterly Pack textures to it. Very handy customized selection.

I think that Minecraft spoils me a lot in terms of map generation. My first home was my only home in my first playthrough because it was at the top of a huge-ass mountain which was also on top of a giant cavern filled with every single resource ever. I then covered the entire area in torches and got tons of treasure from the millions of dungeons nearby.

Nowadays I either freebuild or occasionally play SMP with my best friend ever because he has the worst luck in terms of everything in Minecraft. Also, here's a glitch:

My map never generates cool worlds, I just get fairly average ones. The only place I've gotten a super awesome cave was on the SMP server I play on, and it was an area where chunks shifted (new sections generated after an update I guess). There's a shaft to near the bottom, and we've tried to settle there, but we just get overrun by monsters every time. It's pretty insane, not to mention the cave keeps going in all directions from this "pit of death" as we've called it. I have a few recordings of it, which I've been meaning to make a video out of.

I just hate SMP bugs... stupid invisible monsters.

NEW SUBJECT GUYS!

The Beta 1.2 is now out, and updates include dyes for wool, squid mobs, and music boxes. I've already tried out the dyes, which are pretty cool for making golden sheep for amusement. Any other update comments?

I don't have any time to play recently, but squid mobs?

They sound pretty cool, what are they like?

OK, so I'm starting to get a server up guys, but I need a tester before we can all get on. Any volunteers?

EDIT: OK, I've officially created our alpha server guys, and if you can please put the following information on the front page Temporal.

Server I.P.: 5.219.107.47

Hamachi Server Name.: PE2K Minecraft Server

Password: Creeper

Now, you may have to download Hamachi to connect (haven't tested the server yet), but a free version is available here. Remember to download the unmanaged version, as this is the one our server uses.

Remember folks, don't grief, hack, or push friends off cliffs. The first two will get you banned, but the third one is just cruel.

DOUBLE EDIT: OK, so in order for the server to run I must have it active on my computer. Since I don't want my computer to explode, I won't be leaving it on all the time. Instead, we will be hosting "parties" where we will play beginning and for a set time, ok? I vote for Saturdays 5:00 PM EST, since it's the most flexible time for me and most others in the States. I also want to see if we can host the server on PE2K since then we could leave it active at all times without worry or hassle as far as setting up a suitable time for everyone.

Jack of Clovers, since you are a mod and probably the only one of us with any real power, can you get in contact with the people who run the site to see if PE2K could host the server?
