Default I totally missed the boat but...

Why is the white colored legend on Black version and the black one on White? Did they decide to just switch it up from the color coding they were doing before with D\P?

Not that it matters in the long run. Just asking...

Yes, I am that late to talking about B\W

I suppose Nintendo wanted to spice things up a bit. I honestly don't mind at all, because I prefer the colour black over white and I love Reshiram.

I'm honestly more of a white fan, but I'm picking Pokemon White because I'm more of a collector than a hardcore battler :3

Another possible reason is that white on white is hard on the eyes, as is black on black. It makes the legendaries more noticeable on the game box.

There are a lot of cool effects you can do to make white on white and black on black look good however ^.^

Although when Kyurem's game comes out I wonder how they'll work out Grey on Grey.

I think they would make it more of a silvery color.
That was what I was thinking with the white\white black\black. If you make the colors glossy or metallic they stand out beautifully :).
I can see them looking like shiny new ipod\imac colors ^.^

The reason it was done was:

1. Contrasting colors make for a much better display
2. The legendary Pokemon Zekrom and Reshiram are modeled after the famous Yin-yang symbol. If you remember (before america screwed it up -.-) their classifications were; Reshiram - the Yin Pokemon, and Zekrom - the Yang Pokemon.

Now, to further that, the Yin-yang symbol has both a white dot in the black, and a black dot in the white. It's a symbolic way to show that no matter what side you're on, there is always going to be hints of the other (good will have bad, bad will have good). The two legends were placed that way to further represent said symbol.

In White Version, you have the White Forest which may represent Yin, the good (because it's nature). Zekrom acts as the black dot in White because it's Yang, the evil.

In Black Version, you have Black City which may represent Yang, the evil (because it's technology). Reshiram acts as the white dot in Black because it's the Yin, the good.

I could just be looking too far into this, but that's my honest belief as to the whole white on black and black on white. You know, aside from the easy explanation of contrast. xDD

Actually Reshiram represents Yang while Zekrom respresents Yin.

Actually, that is just a Western interpretation of the Yin-Yang symbol. They do not stand for good vs. evil, rather just natural balance.

It stands to reason that if they made them stand for it and it comes out in the US that it would be under our interpretation of what it means as well. After all, the pokemon makers are pretty world wise :)
I always thought it had more to do with male and female than good and evil...

It can be interpreted that way, however the symbol was made by Dualists in China that believed there was always a balance for nature.
