Move animation fail?
Hey guys,
I recently started my black version so I could get my second Victini and to make my task a little easier I traded some mons from my White version. One of which was a Dratini which I had bred. I'll tell the details in bullet points it's easier: - Caught a wild lvl 50 Dratini, which knew Dragon Rush and Dragon Tail plus 2 other moves
- Bred the Dratini with a lvl 63 Ditto
- Hatched the Egg (this was all done on White Version btw)
- The hatched Dratini also knew Dragon Rush and Dragon Tail
- I traded the bred Dratini onto Black
So, when I go to use either Dragon Tail or Dragon Rush, they both have exactly the same animation. Is this supposed to be like this? It just seems a little lazy...

I've noticed this too.
It does seem a bit lazy...or maybe they wanted to mess with our minds.

To be honest, I wouldn't have noticed it had I not got confused. I thought that Dragon Rush was Dragon Pulse, so I thought it should have been that animation, so that's why I picked up on it. I'm normally not observant at all. It was mainly because I have been using Hydreigon loads!
BTW, while we are on the subject of Dragons, what kind of moveset should I be using? I'm relatively new to pokemon you see, but I am well aware of metagames, being a Veteran of Yu-Gi-Oh! Atm with my Hydreigon I have:
Dragon Pulse
Dragon Tail
Draco Meteor
Crunch
But I see that he can learn Outrage, so I will probably drop Dragon Tail for that due to its inconsistency. But I will have 3 Dragon type moves and 1 Dark Type move, seems a bit overkill with no variation. I was considering adding Hyper Beam...

I noticed this as well, I think it's just mere creativity, I don't really mind duplicated move actions/animations. But of course it would be better if they were still different.

@Natolio: Hydreigon can do sooo much better. Stuff like Dragon Pulse, Crunch, Surf, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, and Flash Cannon. Good coverage and can hit hard.
@Randor: There are other moves with similiar animations, for good reason in my opinion.

Yeah, I know there are similar move animations, and thats understandable and as I said I don't mind it, some moves are similar because other moves are closely related to each other. :)

There are plenty of moves that seemed to be a bit lazy. Flamethrower and Dig seem to be the worst in my opinion.
Flamethrower seems to be an irregular, broken up stream of fire, and Dig...GOD. It's painfully slow to dig into the ground, and the noise doesn't seem to really fit. And I hate how your guy pops up and then attacks >.< It's just too slow (which is why I replaced Dig on my Durant with Hone Claws, muhahaha).
If you think about it though, they had to create a lot of animations. So, like any company, they will take shortcuts. SEGA does it (the cry for several enemies is the same - namely Perfect Chaos, the Biolizard, and Devil Doom, for example), Nintendo just did it, Microsoft...It saves time and money.
As for your Hydreigon, try adding a Flying move to deal with pesky bugs and fighting types. Believe me, it will help because of all the Bug types in this game ^^

It's a shame there are very few Flying type special moves, because a good Flying special attack would go with Hyrdeigon perfectly.

No, that episode was actually aired in the states. As I said, Pokemon has already messed with our minds enough.
