Feeling weak, Joltik put it all into what may be its final turn. Joltik pounced from under the cloak of snow as the tips of its "arms" glowed a bright purple. Joltik slashed against the white giant. hitting the Ice type at its weak point, dealing poisonous damage. [Cross Poison; Joltik: -15 Energy | Abomasnow: -12 HP (critical hit!)] As Joltik landed, Abomasnow decided it had dealt with Joltik enough, and attempted to finish it off with a powerful Earthquake. It slammed its right foot down as shockwaves rippled across the ground. Faster than a split second, Joltik's Substitute stood in front of the original, absorbing the shockwaves and simultaneously exploding in a flash of white light. [Earthquake; Joltik: -19 HP (Substitute breaks!)| Abomasnow: -14 Energy] Joltik, upset over its lost HP, stared Abomasnow down, as its eyes quickly flashed red. As this occurred, the Pokémon made eye contact. The hypnotizing spell made the Ice type unable to use Earthquake for quite some time. [Disable; Joltik: -15 Energy | Abomasnow: Cannot use Earthquake for the next 7 actions!] Going for a familiar tactic, Abomasnow began unearthing rocks to shower the Bug type Pokémon. As it used its powers to lift them into the air, Joltik made sure to run closer to Abomasnow, where the rocks would not reach. Sure enough, it evaded the barrage, wasting some of the Ice type's energy. [Rock Slide; Joltik: Missed! | Abomasnow: -10 Energy] All was for naught, however, as the glowing red seed on Joltik's back sapped the last of the Bug type's hit points, restoring Abomasnow's HP in the process.
