You run away from Jirachi, who just lazes in the air not giving a fig. After walking for a time, you arrive at the edge of a forest. A Sky Forme Shaymin, Gracidea Flower tucked behind its ear, is grazing peacefully by a tree.

NOTE FOR RANGERS: Rangers may control the Wild Pokémon. However, unless ONLY the player's partner Pokémon faints, the Wild Pokémon cannot use an action that would end the battle, e.g. Explosion,, Memento, Roar, etc.

Mewtwo floats upwards ominously, exuding raw power felt throughout the Safari Zone. Skymin looks over warily, identifying the nearby source of power, but, where its more timid counterpart would have run, it only looks on, curious. Mewtwo's paws raise in front of it as the air suddenly chills around it. Its arms swirl in a circular motion, forming a ball of pale, deadly blue in front of its body. With a single fluid motion he draws back, and then strikes forward, piercing the ball. It explodes in a bright flash, followed by a swirling torrent of icy, snow-filled wind, powerful as the fiercest of blizzards. It passes over a surprised Skymin, who is covered in powdery snow in a manner of seconds. You notice Skymin is slightly stunned before it gets a chance to react. You rationalize it is in shock from the pain - the wide-spread Blizzard must have hit its weak spot.

Skymin blinks twice, and then shakes itself rapidly, sending snow everywhere. Its teeth chatter, but more importantly, as it looks around, it sees the effects of the extreme cold on the grass and flowers around. It can sense that the rapid freezing killed it all instantly, which makes it very, very angry. Skymin closes its eyes, and begins drawing in pollutants from the air. The flower on its head steadily changes color, from vibrant pink to a darker purple, all the way to a faded black. Its face scrunches up painfully, and then its body glows green. Its eyes open, and all at once there's an explosion of light and energy. You shield your eyes, but even you can feel the immense power of nature coming from Skymin's body. When it fades, you see Mewtwo, floating stoically in the air with its arms crossed. A casual bystander would assume it just shrugged the attack off, but you, having spent so much time with it, notice the subtle throbbing vein on its forehead.

Mewtwo, still annoyed from the Seed Flare, began to glow with a neon blue hue. It slowly levitated backwards as it outstretched its arms, its three “fingers” slowly flexing to life. As Mewtwo’s glow began to further brighten, small blue sparks of a matching hue could be seen flying from Mewtwo’s palm. Skymin looked slightly worried as the sparks rapidly grew greater in number – and they were soon flying from all over Mewtwo, as opposed to just its palms. The Psychic type seemed to smirk as its wrists quickly jerked backwards before flying forward, sending a massive wave of the neon blue sparks showering towards Skymin. There was no seeming escape path from the assault, and Skymin was shocked with the electric shower. When the sparks had clearly, Skymin’s movements were no longer as lively as they once were. Rather, Skymin seemed to be moving in a rather jerky manner, as paralysis began to set in.

Paralyzed and still smarting from the earlier Blizzard, the Wild Legendary Pokémon decided to take to the offensive in order to better protect itself. Skymin stood perfectly still for a moment and closed its eyes as it began to draw energy from the bright sun above. The leaves on Skymin’s back began to glow with a bright white light, which quickly grew brighter by the second. Anticipating an attack, Mewtwo poised to strike, but no such attack came, as Skymin’s leaves began to shimmer and drop white sparkles around Skymin. The sparkles, as they hit the ground and dissipated, appeared to have some sort of positive healing effect on the Grass-type. Although the paralysis hadn’t worn off completely, the wounds from earlier to seem have healed considerably, putting Skymin into a significantly better battling state.

You of course, were not finished, despite Skymin’s newly healed state. Putting your hand into the pouch around your waist, you retrieve a small red and white sphere. It is empty; you know this because the top portion, the red half, is slightly transparent, allowing you to see within. Upon confirming it was empty, you toss the Ball overhand towards the Flying-type, who looks onward at the Ball with a reindeer in the headlights look. The Ball hit Skymin quickly, sucking the beast into its tiny confines. The prison however, proved to be weak, as the sphere quickly exploded with a bright white light. When the light dissolved, Skymin stood before you, smirking as it was easily able to escape from your Poké Ball.

As the flower-like Pokémon adjusted to being outside of the Ball, it quickly jerked momentarily before kicking off with its hind legs, flying into the air. It flew around in a large circle, gathering strong wind currents as the cycle grew stronger. The oxygen molecules in the air quickly began to glow a bright blue, which all began to stick to each other as they began to form a bright blue ball. As the ball drew in more and more oxygen, suddenly Skymin stopped flying. Its body froze up entirely and it circling stopped as quickly, Skymin began to plummet back down towards the ground. The flowers cushioned its fall, but full paralysis had kicked in, and the shame had never been greater.

Being Mewtwo’s trainer, you know when even the powerful Legendary is beginning to reach its limits. Although your PokéDex shows that Mewtwo’s Health and Energy are certainly at acceptable levels, you of course, are not one to take chances and risk the embarrassment of losing to a mere Skymin within the Legendary Zone. You reach into your trust bag and whip out a glass bottle, which has its lid covered by a purple cloth. Inside the bottle is a white liquid, known to many as Moo Moo Milk. You rip the binding rubber band off the cloth, exposing its contents to the air before quickly tossing the open bottle to Mewtwo. While normally, this would be a terrible idea, the bottle suddenly stops mid-ascent, as Mewtwo uses its telekinesis to levitate the bottle. The bottle floats over to Mewtwo, who mentally extracts the liquid before pouring it into its mouth. The milk restores a good portion of Mewtwo’s health and energy, and quickly the bottle drops softly in the flowers below.

Seeing that Mewtwo decided to go on the defensive, Skymin decided to follow suit. Skymin closed its eyes, hoping to tap into a similar power to that of the earlier Synthesis. Standing still once again, Skymin wished upon the power of the sun above, and its flowers began to glow a bright green in response. The flowers appeared to be drawing in energy from the sun as they slowly began to grow in size. Skymin had a brief glow as well, as it began to defy the Law of Conservation of Mass and grow in size. It felt more powerful as it grew, ready to take on the world.

You carry on your journey, venturing through the woods. The Pokemon are reclusive today, though, and you find nothing until you reach the other side to discover a beach. You stand at the shore and look out onto the ocean for a moment, pondering if you can procure a boat, when you notice something wash onto shore. It's an egg, as luck would have it, and a very peculiar one at that.


What will you do?

> Flee. Flee from the Egg! (2 Safari Points)
> Leave Safari Zone

Notice for Rangers: No one is finding Manaphy Eggs outside the Legendary Zone. Keep them as standard Egg sprites, please.

You claim the Egg as your own, and then press on. Deciding that it would be pointless to go out onto the ocean, you and Mewtwo instead journey along the coastline. Your travels carry you across great plains, through rocky ravines, and past sweltering deserts, and yet still you encounter no Pokemon. Now your way is blocked by a towering mountain.

What will you do?
