Default OPEN BATTLE: Saraibre Ryu VS. Trainer17 -- Saraibre Ryu wins.

Arena: Shifting Stadium
Every three rounds the arena will change from that of three different looking area's. One is a plain rugged area with tall rocks dotted across the landscape in a rust coloured barren like look. Another is a grassy area with damp swampy spots that have a 10% chance of an opponent stepping in and losing speed. [Excluding flying types] The last one is a dusty ground with tall ten foot wood pillars all over the arena like some odd ninja training ground. Flying types have a 5% chance of knocking into one of these pillars and taking damage Those on top of the pillars have a 5% of falling off and taking some damage.
Ref Style: Open
I'm sending out:

Asharas the Charmander [F]
Ability: Blaze
Signature move: Flare Blaze
Description: The flames of a Charmander and evolutions yet to come always burn brighter when fierce battles have been faced. Ashe was one such Pokemon who would face her own opponents who had a type advantage over her. Over and over again, until the peak of her power was reached and skill of her fire attacks hit high. Once her Blaze ability activated, she took it one step further, unleashing even more power against her opponents in a literal blaze of glory. Water type's steamed, rock types melted under the intense heat and so on and so forth. However Ashe would go without taking some of her own recoil damage every time a fire attack was used due to the intensity. This was always a do or die tactic.
Type: Fire
Base Power: N/A
Accuracy: 100%
Classification: Status
Energy Modifier: 15%
Effects:
-All Fire attacks used that cause 'not very effective' damage become 'normal damage'. 'Normal damage' becomes Super Effective. Super Effective damage as they were.
-All fire attacks used cause 3% recoil damage to remaining health. (Should 2 Fire attacks be used in one round means -7% health for each fire attack in total) This is added to the recoil value if the fire type attack already does recoil damage (Eg. Flare Blitz)
-All fire attacks have a chance of burning if they did not have it previously before.
-Flash Fire Ability is bypassed, however, 2% more recoil damage occurs as a result.
-Flash Fire bypass does normal damage to opponent.
-Can only use when the 'Blaze' ability activates after being commanded to.
-Lasts 3 Rounds and if Asharas is by some whim of a miracle still standing by the end of it, ALL her stats drop by 3 levels. [Including Evasion]
Usage Gap: Once per battle.

Gami the Druddigon [F]
Ability: Sheer Force

Gami will use Protect to prevent that chilling attack, then fight back with a strong Rock Slide attack.

Gami:
Protect ~ Rock Slide [If Rock Slide does not hit both opponents, it is aimed at Shuckle]

Asharas is going to Ancient Power on Vanillite, then switch over to a Flame Charge attack on Shuckle.

Asharas:
Ancient Power ~ Flame Charge

Default Re: OPEN BATTLE: Saraibre Ryu VS. Trainer17

Two veterans stood in the arena, watching each other carefully. On my right was Saraibre Ryu while on my left was Trainer17. Though Saraibre had gotten back into the ASB soon after it started, Trainer17 had taken a short retirement before returning to the fray; this would be his first battle after returning and a large crowd had gathered to watch the two face off. This battle also held another honour, being the first double battle of the new league, which attracted a wholly different group of people. The place was buzzing with excitement wherever you looked but the trainers standing right in the middle of everything seemed to be calm and focused, they were ready.

Tension began to build as the crowd realised that they must have been about to reveal the pokémon they would use. The two friends nodded to each other, a sign of respect before they engaged in combat. Saraibre then brought two poke balls from her pocket and threw them out into the battlefield; a brief flash of light was followed by a cheer from her supporters in the vast audience. Asheras and Gami, her Charmander and Druddigon, now stood side by side in the stadium, ready for battle. After a brief moment of consideration, Trainer17 also threw a pair of poke balls into the air. Another momentous round of applause heralded the arrival of his Vanillite and Shuckle, who regarded their opponents cautiously, and marked the finishing of the first part of the battle.

Now that all the competitors were on the field, I flicked a switch on the switchboard by my side; several ten-foot tall pillars burst through the ground, reaching for the sky. The four pokémon watched them grow for a while before returning to the matter at hand: the battle. The crowd roared as a battle that would surely go into the history books started to get moving; this battle would be epic, especially with two masters leading it.

Round One

Saraibre Ryu

[Asharas] Charmander (F)

HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Ready to go
Moves: Ancient Power ~Flame Charge

[Gami] Druddigon (F)
HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Growling threateningly
Moves: Protect ~ Rock Slide

Trainer17

Vanillite (M)

HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Sub-zero
Moves: Ice Beam ~ Hail

Shuckle (M)
HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Sure of his defences
Moves: Bulldoze ~ Bulldoze

The battle started with Gami’s preparations to defend herself from any attacks the enemies planned on using against her. She crossed her spiny arms across her chest and closed her eyes to focus. As she did, a shimmering blue shield came into existence in front of her; she opened her eyes again, her protection now being ready, and waited for something exciting to happen.

Asheras then attacked Vanillite. The small lizard began to glow white and thrust her arms forward as if she was catching something. A ball of sparkling energy began to form between her vicious claws; it grew until it was about six inches wide. Then she fired it at her icy target. As it flew through the air, the centre of the ball cooled into a strange type of rock which was similar to granite – the very power of the ancient legends and the prehistoric pokémon now used in the first round of an incredibly historic battle. The glowing ball of energy collided with Vanillite, causing him to spin around a few times. Once she was recovered, he started to prepare her own attack for Gami, who had already protected herself from whatever he was planning.

A ball of crackling blue ice formed in front of the fresh snow pokémon as he readied itself for an assault on the dragon type. He blew on the ball to make it colder so that it would hurt his target more – then the cold energy contained in the frozen ball was released. A stream of pure white energy shot out of the sphere like a bolt; it was followed by several others. However, Vanillite hadn’t noticed the shield that protected the Druddigon and the beams of ice were absorbed easily. Gami watched them merrily and then turned to her opponent to signal that she would have to do better next time.

Shuckle, who was feeling a little left out, decided that it was time to get noticed by the other battlers. He raised himself up above the ground on his spindly yellow legs for as long as he could hold himself – then he let his limbs go limp and dropped to the dusty ground. The ground began to shake quite violently, causing the other pokémon to stagger a bit. The attack did quite a bit of damage to their legs so that they couldn’t move as quickly as they normally would but it wasn’t very powerful so it didn’t do too much damage.

However, it was enough to get the rock-shelled pokémon noticed. Asharas quickly sought out the bug-type and prepared to attack. She opened her mouth to reveal the sharp, pointy teeth within and released an orb of bright red flame, which grew as it departed the enclosed space of the lizard’s mouth. The flickering ball of fire drifted slowly towards Shuckle, making the audience think that something had gone wrong. Just when everyone was off-guard, the Charmander jumped into the inferno and burst out on the other side, covered in flames. She charged at his opponent, who was too shocked to move, while the furious flames swirled around her. The audience cheered as the pokémon reached her target and collided with him. The rocky armour did its best to protect Shuckle but the bug’s soft flesh was still quite badly hurt. Asharas straightened up; her legs had been restored by the running she had just done – the damage done to them before had been undone. She turned to face her foes confidently, knowing that she was doing well.

Vanillite moved closer to his ally to make sure he wasn’t too badly injured; he confirmed that he wasn’t and told the ice type not to worry so much. Gami had seen her chance and was ready to act. She ran into the nearest of the arena’s stone walls, using her rock-hard head to smash pieces out. Then, while her targets were still next to each other, a blue outline formed around her and she raised one of her arms; the rocks that had fallen from the wall floated into the air. The Druddigon pointed at her targets with one deadly claw and the rocks shot towards them. They were both pelted by the sudden barrage of rocks and cried out. Vanillite was very badly hurt by the attack, but now he could get revenge.

Vanillite’s orders were to make it hail so that was what he would do. His frozen body began to glow an icy blue until it was so bright you could hardly look at it; then the real fun began. He slowly began to drift upwards into the sky, where dark clouds could be seen gathering. The blue light could still be seen illuminating the black storm-clouds as a few small pieces of hail began to fall into the arena. Some of the less committed fans began to complain as the hail storm started but the rest stayed glued to their seats, watching avidly – they had been expecting something like this, changing the weather was usually inevitable in a battle such as this. Vanillite slowly floated back down to the dusty ground, the glow fading as he descended. He had done his part – now it was his partners turn.

Shuckle did just about the same as he had for the last action he made. He propped himself up on his spindly legs and then let himself fall to the floor. The ground shook and damaged each of the pokémon on the field’s legs once again. This time, the attack caused Asharas to stumble but he somehow managed to hold himself up with a pillar. Once the tremors subsided, the effects of the round could be clearly seen. Vanillite was looking much worse for wear than the others and Trainer17’s pokémon did seem to be taking quite a beating. However, there was still everything to play for at this stage and nothing could be ruled out.

FYIKantoBreeder, you changed my Gami's gender after your calculation...please fix.

Asharas is going to use Smokescreen to give her and Gami some cover, then she is going to try and get in a sneaky Flame Burst attack on Shuckle. If Shuckle should use a Defensive move, she will use Sunny Day instead.

Asharas:
Smokescreen ~ Flame Burst -> Shuckle / Sunny Day

Gami is going to use that cover of Smokescreen to use Hone Claws and get her shiny things are nice and sparkly. Then she will follow up with a Metal Claw attack on Shuckle. If Shuckle Uses a defensive move, Gami will use Swagger on Vanillite

Gami
Hone Claws ~ Metal Claw -> Shuckle / Swagger -> Vanillite

Since our opponent loves to wait and see, let's fulfill their wishes!

Shuckle, let's get defensive here and use Power Trick. Then try a Stone Edge at Charmander.

Vanillite, time to get speedy. Autotomize yourself and try to dodge the incoming Swagger, then fire an Ice Beam at the Druddigon.

Shuckle : Power Trick ~ Stone Edge @ Charmander
Vanillite : Autotomize ~ Ice Beam @ Druddigon

Asharas was eager to give herself and her partner some cover from their opponent’s attacks. A black cloud began to spill from her mouth to the ground, quickly hiding the feet of the two dragons. Vanillite and Shuckle watched with horror as the smoke caused their opponents to disappear completely; trying to hit them would be a lot harder now. Once they were inside their protective fog, Gami could prepare to attack. She found a small rock on the floor of the arena and used it to sharpen her claws. Soon they were deadly weapons and the Druddigon was ready to strike.

Since their opponents were now cloaked behind the veil of smoke Trainer17’s pokémon also took a moment to prepare themselves a little better. Vanillite began to glow silver and speed around the pillars like a headless Torchic; he shed some of the ice which coated his body as he went. Due to the loss of this ice, he had become much lighter, her weight had halved, and able to move quicker – cancelling out the damage Shuckle had done in the last round. On the other hand, Shuckle made himself more of an offensive threat to the opponent. The bug-type began to flash in several colours, giving the audience an unexpected light show, as chemical and physical reactions began to take place inside his body. The hard, rocky armour which protected him so well was dissolved by the fermenting juices inside his shell before being absorbed into the body. Then the minerals were transported to the muscles in the bloodstream where they helped to build them up from being as flimsy as paper to as strong a Druddigon’s head.

Although Vanillite was now faster than before, Asharas managed to sneak her attack in first. A fireball erupted from the cloud of concealment, engulfing most of the arena and causing both trainers and some members of the audience to cover their faces. The flames subsided and some automatic sprinklers in the roof were used to stop the pillars from being burnt to cinders. The battlefield seemed a mess: Vanillite had been hit hard and was struggling to form his next attack Shuckle was staring into the fog bemusedly; the fog seemed to show no signs of anything and parts of the arena had caught fire. This battle seemed to be heating up.

The Ice-type wasn’t too keen on all this fire and decided to get her opponent to chill out a little. A crackling ball of cold, white energy formed in front of him before being unleashed into the fog. Not sure of where his target was hiding, Vanillite sliced through the cloud with the beam – knowing that he’d hit Gami eventually. Then, her target leapt from the smoke, her claws shining like polished iron. She used her wings to glide over the Vanillite, dodging the attack, and landed in front of Shuckle – she swiped at him with her deadly talons. They pierced the rocky armour and made bug howl with pain; he had just remembered the disadvantage to boosting his attack by weakening his defence. The ice-type swung around to hit Gami with an icy blast but the Druddigon was already on her way back into the swirling mist of smoke.

Shuckle was enraged by his pain and wanted to take it out on someone. His trainer told him to use Stone Edge on Asharas so he went about it viciously. A couple of blue rings encircled him as he focused. Slowly, several white orbs formed in the air around him and gradually became things that could be recognised as rocks. When he was ready he pointed the rocks sharp edges into the cloud, normally only the rocks would be fired but Shuckle had decided that he wanted to go too. So he charged into his opponents hiding place, hoping desperately that he’d hit his opponent. The audience held their breath, desperate to know what was happening. Then they saw Asharas roll out of the cloud with a couple of the pointed stones in his arm; he stood up again quickly and stumbled back into his cloud, but it could be seen that he was badly hurt. Meanwhile, Shuckle crawled out of the cloud, looking quite pleased with himself.

Vanillite, use Magnet Rise and once you're up in the sky, follow it up with a Frost Breath @ Druddigon

Shuckle, since you can't see your Opponents much, do an Earthquake twice. That should affect the entire arena and damage them even if they are 'hidden'.

Vanillite : Magnet Rise ~ Frost Breath @ Druddigon
Shuckle : Earthquake ~ Earthquake

Just making sure you're taking into account Gami's Sheer Force Ability.

Asharas is going to give Shuckle some payback with Flame Charge while that Vanillite is getting ready to float. Then she will follow up with a Flamethrower to Vanilite and give Gami some cover.

Asharas
Flame Charge -> Shuckle ~ Flamethrower -> Vanillite

Gami is going to give that rock bug a piece of her mind with Torment, then she will try to give Asharas some protective cover by standing in front of her and using Protect. No chance taking with that living cones attack.

Gami
Torment -> Shuckle ~ Protect

Knowing that her friend’s attack would hurt her a lot if she stayed where she was, Vanillite decided it was time to get out of the firing line. She managed to cause herself to levitate above the ground by a few feet so that she wouldn’t get caught up in the tremors which would soon be released. I have no idea how an ice-type can use magnetism but then, who knows how magnets work?

Shuckle, however, was more concentrated on a bundle of flames which had appeared out of the smoke. Asharas had coated herself in a layer of fire and was now charging at the rock-type with all the speed she could muster; by stretching her legs like this she could become quicker and return to her natural level of agility. The small dragon smashed into her target; he screamed and dragged himself a little further away from the cloud which contained his enemies. Unfortunately, they weren’t done with him yet – Gami had soon emerged from the fog to make her own attack on him. Rather than a damaging attack, the Druddigon was going to stop her opponent’s strategy from working; she was going to stop him using the same move twice. She shouted and screamed at the bug-type until he could bear it no more. Everything was going to plan for Saraibre’s team.

Shuckle was now fuming, he had been attacked and his strategy had been torn apart; all he could do now was make sure he hit his opponents at least once. He began to slam his tentacles-like arms into the ground so that several ripples spread out around the arena. Even the audience were moving a little as the ground beneath them shook. Gami was closer to the epicentre and so was hit harder – she fell to the floor and found it impossible to get back up until the shaking had stopped. Farther away from Shuckle, the shocks were weaker but Asharas was still hit hard since she was weak to the attack. In the middle of a cloud of smoke with the ground shaking ferociously, the Charmander’s flame began to grow larger and hotter while her eyes went slightly bloodshot – Blaze had been activated.

The first anyone knew of this was when a massive blast of fire burst out of the cloud and engulfed Vanillite. The flames raged and burned the ice-type, who spun around trying to stop it; fire and ice met in the sky – a titanic clash which left one of the combatants significantly worse off than the other. Meanwhile, Gami had nearly been hit by the colossal fire ball but had already built up sparkling shield of energy to block any and all attacks which came her way. She looked back into the cloud, knowing that Blaze was her ally’s greatest weapon as well as her most frightening curse.

After taking a short break to regain his composure, Vanillite struck at the dragon. A spray of ice was ejected from her mouth but only hit the Druddigon’s glittering shield, causing it to ring slightly. Watching his friend fail to do anything to the opponent, Shuckle decided that should probably try doing something to help win the battle; he flailed his arms around feebly but nothing much happened except a few laughs from the crowd so he gave up.

Just to note: Gami has -2 Speed still...

Asharas it's time to bring the house down. Use Flare Blaze to boost yourself up even more, then use Flame Charge on Shuckle. If Shuckle uses something to block Flame Charge then use it on Vanilite instead.

Asharas:
Flare Blaze ~ Flame Charge -> Shuckle/Vanilite

Gami you need to be the heavy here. Use Rock Slide and try to get rid of that Vanilite and cause some damage to Shuckle and abuse it's swapped Defense. If Vanilite uses something to block Rock Slide, then use Rock Smash on Shuckle instead. Then use Metal Claw on Shuckle, unless Shuckle uses something to block it, then use Smack Down on Vanilite if he's still standing. If Vanilite is not still standing, use Hone Claws

Gami:
Rock Slide/Rock Smash -> Shuckle ~ Metal Claw -> Shuckle / Smack Down -> Vanilite / Hone Claws

Ok, looks like this is a close battle.

Vanillite, decimate the Dragon by using Two Icy Breaths in a row.

Shuckle, you're going to take the most hits here, but not to worry. Try Helping Hand and boost Vanillite's attack! Then, use Rock Blast at your Foe, Charmander! Let's go minasaaaaan ~

Vanillite : Icy Breath ~ Icy Breath @ Druddigon
Shuckle : Helping Hand ~ Rock Blast @ Charmander
