Default Animated Avatar Problem

I'm having a problem with uploading the avatar I want. It's the animated Houndoom sprite from Pe2k's sprite resource. I've saved it to my laptop, but whenever I upload it it comes out as a still image of the first frame in bad quality. It also happened with an animated Suicune avatar. Am I the only one who is getting this problem, and how can I fix it?

Late reply: animated icons do not work as far as I've noticed, no idea why. They stopped working after Ryan changed something in the forums a while ago.

When you upload it, try and use tinypic and instead of hitting image. Hit video.

Thanks guys. I saved it to my laptop, then uploaded it from there, and also tried it straight from pe2k, so I have no idea why it didn't work.

Anyway, I'll try what you said, Mageta, if I ever again want an animated avatar.

You can't use the Animated Houndoom sprite because it's 49.2 KB and therefore, over the file size limits for avatars here. I assume Gelatini's avatar works because the Vanillite animated sprite is of a smaller KB Size or Site Staff get special avatar priveliges.

The Houndour animated sprite in the sprite resource is within the limits, so you could use that if you're a fan of the Houndour, as well.

Ah, thats why. Thank you. :3

If I want to use an animated avatar, I'll have to use Houndour, or something.

If that was so, I would start a freakin' revolution.

You could also simply use a GIF editing program to simply change the actual size of the image, therefore lowering the amount of memory.

I honestly wasn't sure if there was, but on certain forums, staff members are allowed larger avatars than regular users. While you may have an animated avatar, it's within the file size limit, I never said the privileges would apply to animated avatars in general, I was referring to a file size allowed for animated avatars.
