Trekking through the dense forest one fine day, I stumbled upon two Trainers in a distance. They started to talk for a while and as I neared to the spot where they were, I overheard an agreement to a battle. Seeing that I’m the only person who could referee their match, I walked over to a tree stump which I used as a podium. Wiping away the sweat on my face, I proclaimed the start of the battle. On one side, a small orange bird chirped as it was sent out. On the other side, a brown furry fox-like Pokemon tilted its head towards its opponent.

Round One

No time was wasted in starting the battle. Vero the Eevee started digging at the ground with her paws. Kicking and throwing off the foresty soil, she created a hole for her to go underground. For a short while, the brown Eevee was out of sight from everyone. Then, the soil beneath Venus’ feet broke loose as a hole opened up and Vero jumps out from the hole, tackling the surprised Torchic to the ground. [Eevee: Dig, -18 Energy; Torchic: -28 HP]

Hurrying back to her feet, Venus glared at her opponent and her dirty tricks. She decided not to attack however and her body began to glow purple. The Torchic started to hop about and dance in a frenzy manner; the dance looked as though she was practicing offensive moves. [Torchic: Swords Dance, -3 Energy, +2 ATK]

After finishing her frenetic dance, Venus chirped as a light green force field surrounds her. She was confident her opponent would not be able to use any dirty tactics now. [Torchic: Protect, -8 Energy]

Vero repeated her same burrowing actions as before, disappearing yet again under the forest soil. This time as the Eevee resurfaced, Vero knocked against the Torchic’s force field and she bounced off the Protect. The Eevee was totally bewildered by her opponent; first the dance, now a shield? She shrugged it off and padded back to her position near her Trainer, FlyingFish. [Eevee: Dig, -18 Energy, failed]
