Which genre do you tend to read?

So, when it comes to reading books or writing, which do you find yourself most likely to pick up? :)

I tend to side with fantasy, such as Phillip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' or Eoin Coulfer's 'Atermis Fowl'. I'm also going to read 'The Hunger Games' series.

I'd like to expand my reading with harder and more complex literature, however, and plan to read some realistic fiction soon.

I don't know if it's exactly a genre, but I read classic American and English literature, like A Clockwork Orange, and anything by Hemingway.

I mostly read fantasy. Most of the books I really really love are fantasy, like Harry Potter, LOTR, His Dark Materials, Wind on Fire and slowly getting into A Song of Ice and Fire. I guess because they give you a whole new world to think about, you can really get into it.

I also like science fiction. Jurassic Park and The Lost World by Michael Crichton and some of my favourites, too.

I'm kinda into future dystopian novels right now.

Science Fiction is a big one. It kinda goes with creepy pastas.

I also like comedy and humor. O;

Tragedy and Horror are big ones too, also goes with creepy missing persons Blair Witch Project things. XD

I'll read any book that happens to pique my interest, but I particularly enjoy fantasy/science fiction. :D I mean, one of the main purposes for reading is to get away from reality, right? So why not invent some cool powers, neat and interesting (maybe even possible in real life) concepts? Maybe this is just because the first books I really got into were of the Magic Tree House series, but whatever the reason, they're very creative and inspiring genres to play around with in my opinion.

I love fantasy/adventure stories. I didn't select mystery because generally that sorta stuff comes with crime stories and whatnot, but I do love mysteries in the stories I read.

I'm almost constantly reading fantasy novels xD Every once in a while, I'll pick up a sci-fi novel, or a historical fiction, but fantasy's what I live and breath ^^ I'd like to be a fantasy writer some day :3

I can't turn down a good Fantasy. At the moment I'm sick of all of the unoriginal vampire books that keep floating about any bookstores I find myself in - I just want something original and unexpected. But yeah, Fantasy is one of my favourites to read.

I also like to write Fantasy, but I tend to like being a bit dark with it - hence why I've voted for Horror as well. I love the idea of reading suspenseful and terrifying books, I just haven't found one yet. I am currently enjoying Resident Evil: The Umbrella Conspiracy though, but not scary at all P:

Yeah, I also have a bit of a habit of enjoying reading and writing the Romance genre... It's my guilty pleasure, okay! T_T I don't feel like a man anymore.

I didn't know anyone else who read Artemis Fowl! Anyways, I usually like stuff like Artemis Fowl and the Hunger games. Fantasy, Adventure, Mystery. All that stuff. But my favorite would be Fantasy.
