(I'm baaaa~aaack! :D)
Location: Running to Union Cave
Team: (Flint) Cyndiquil [Able], (Buzz) Ledian [Able], Unown E <missing> Grimer (Hatching!)
Lee switched between looking at his leg to the fleeing form of Yellow. What a mystery that girl was. He couldn't believe everything that she had done for him: she betrayed the Tyrants to let him escape, and now she had used some strange power to heal him. Why was she doing this for him? What did she see in him?
He shook his head, deciding that he would never understand. At least he didn't have an enemy in her.
Lee looked down at his Cyndiquil and sighed. Yellow was right--he hadn't exactly been the kindest to his Pokemon. He had been telling himself it was for their own good, but honestly it was because he was afraid. Lee had been trying to protect himself from them. But... perhaps he could try opening up to them. Flint had already devoted himself completely to Lee. The least he could do was give him some credit.
The Cyndiquil looked up at him questioningly.
"...Thanks for having my back..." That was the best he could try for now, but it was enough for his Pokemon. The Cyndiquil slowly nodded.
Picking up the fire-type and placing it on his shoulder, Lee continued on his mad dash to Union Cave. Without his leg giving him trouble, he was able to pick up his speed, flying past the farmlands north of the cave. He could only hope that he wasn't too late.
After running for some time, the psychic stopped to gather his bearings. During this time, he noticed that something in his bag was shifting. Baffled, the youth shrugged it off and peered inside.
It was the egg.
Lee watched in surprise as the sphere jerked back and forth, suddenly seized with life. Cracks began appearing in its surface... And purple gunk promptly started oozing out. Lee recoiled sharply with a shout, repulsed by the sight. He felt almost certain that something was wrong with his egg. Was it rotten?
Seconds later a foul smell assaulted him.
"Arceus," he grunted, pinching his nose tight. "What the heck did I do?"
The whole situation was baffling to Lee, but when the egg finally burst open he got the answers he was looking for.
"Grimer, Grime!" a purple sludge monster beamed at him, holding up its thick arms.
Lee stared at the creature, then suddenly began laughing. Wow--nothing had been wrong with the egg. It was just a Grimer. To think that this whole time he had been incubating hazardous waste...
The smell had gotten worse now that the entire Pokemon had appeared. Lee was gagging, but held up one of his Poke Balls. "That's nice... Er, welcome to the team, I guess..."
"Grimer, Grime!" the creature gurgled before disappearing into Lee's Poke Ball.
