Route 8
ROUTE 8
Requirements: None. Travel time: 48 hours. Description Rotue 8 partly consists of a long steel bridge that connects one half of the bay to the other. The Rising Bridge was built over 50 years ago with materials mined near Solstice City and funded mostly by the thriving businesses in Sirius City who wished to spread their influence to the east side of Celestia. The bridge is split down the middle and can be opened to admit large ships into Dawn Bay in times of bad weather. When the bridge is down, it is a popular spot for Trainers to gather and battle. Flying-type Pokemon often nest in the nooks of the bridge. Landmarks ------------- Wild Pokemon       Items ? Navigation

Dozens of Flying-type Pokemon flocked over head, circling us. Several of their feathers fluttered down - I avoided them for I did not know what kind of diseases could have been lurking on them. My feet clanged on the bridge as I moved across it. I stopped to rest for a while and to allow Pleasant to catch up with me, who was slowing down to enjoy the scenery every now and then. "I think I like the ocean," he told me, his aqua eyes gazing out at the equally coloured sea. "Finally, something you do like," I muttered. "What do you like about the sea?" "Just think about it," he begun. "We know more about the moon than we do our own ocean. Who knows what could be lurking down there, hidden in the inky darkness of the deep? It's all so eerie, don't you think?" I shrugged. "I guess." My thoughts kept flickering to my mother. "We'll find her," Pleasant reassured me. "Dead or alive, we'll find her." The reassurance was gone. "Thanks a bunch." I never could count on Pleasant for comfort. "So, Mr.Mime, huh?" he asked me, swirling around my head annoyingly. I tried to swat him away. "Hey! Why Mr.Mime, anyway?" "They think Mr.Mime is the ancestor of all living Pokemon. They figured a being that old must be powerful. That's why the research was being carried out in Sunburst Village - they breed Mime.Jr there." "So what went wrong?" "They made them women. Mrs.Mime, not Mr.Mime." Giant gasps for air suddenly erupted from the Shuppet. "Oh my Arceus, really? That's hilarious!" "Just be quiet." We continued along the bridge. Once we were a fair way across, one of my Poke Balls suddenly opened. Duct Tape emerged, looking around the area. "Welcome to Route 8, Eti! This is the Rising Bridge, home to several Flying-type Pokemon! Materials from Solstice City was used to make this bridge 50 years ago!" he buzzed, his cogs whirring quickly as he delivered this information. "Wow!" I said to him, stunned. "You sure are informative!" "It's my pleasure, trainer!" he clunked. "Anything to keep this trip going smoothly!" He rammed into his Poke Ball softly, recalling himself. I blinked at the odd behaviour of my Pokemon. "I guess you meet all kinds of personalities on this trip," shrugged the Shuppet. Last edited by Etymology; 11-08-2012 at 01:10 AM.

Pleasant whined, looking at how far we had left to travel. "Stop moaning. We're almost at Sirius City," I responded to him, shoving his Poke Ball in his face. He didn't complain for the rest of the journey.

Nothing of major importance occurred on the bridge during my entire visit. The winds were howling and the rain was making me feel worse than a Swinub over a spit-roast - in review, the journey had been awful. "Well, there's Sirius," I mumbled to Pleasant as the length of the bridge ahead begun to recede. "We should probably rest up there soon. The gym battle won't be easy." "Eti, what's that?" he asked me, floating towards a strange rock that was tumbling towards me. The sight of the dark substance was enough to make me fell unusually ill. "Don't touch that!" I yelped. "You know better than to touch strange rocks!" I leapt for the Shuppet in an attempt to restrain him, only to fall through the body due to his ghostly characteristics. I landed onto the bridge with a crunch - my jaws began to ache in pain. I saw the rock stop by my foot. "What in the worl-" I begun, kicking away at it with my shoe. "Maybe we'll find a Flying type." Typhlosion glanced around. "There are lots of them here." I looked at him. "Ack!" Croconaw screamed. "What?!" I looked back at him. "I-I'm glowing!" He looked surprised. "Ha ha, you're just going to evolve soon!" I grinned. "BAHAHAH! YOU EVOLVED BEFORE, YOU NOOB." Combusken smiled. He hugged Croconaw friend-wise. He was just picking on his best friend. "Hush! I know I was just...surprised." He began to laugh. "Well, you've seen Saffron's Feraligatr. Do you want to evolve?" I questioned him. I usually ask all of my Pokemon this. "O-Of course! Evolving is...awesome!" He grinned. "Well good for you! Combusken will evolve soon." I looked at them. "Awesome! I so wanna become a Blaziken!" Combusken jumped. "Well, for now, let's get on to Sirius! Quinn's Sister is the leader. I wanna see how she fairs against us!" I started to run off into deep Route 8. Entering Route 8 from Aurora City.

The bridge rising sends a massive shock through the structure. You watch bird pokemon fly off away. The man tells you that you must go back to Aurora City. As you turn back around you see something surprising. A Wild Pidove Appears

Pidove was crushed under massive psychic force. It reached up, and used Steel Wing on Pigchic! "Are you alright Pigchic?!" I cried. "Ha ha, it's going to take more than just Steel Wing to take it out of me." He smiled. "Alright, then Psychic again!" I screamed. This one took Pidove down. "Go, Pokeball!" The ball wiggled back and forth...
