[CONTEST] Team Building - Tyrant Clan

The Tyrant Clan has no equal in power. We strive for excellence in everything we do. Power is earned.

Judge Dredd has asked me to put together a sprite contest to create the Grunts for The Tyrant Clan to go along with his Gotta Catch 'Em All game. And this is where you come in.

Mr. Judge Dredd would like you to outfit his Tyrant Clan grunts. The only request from this high class client, is that the grunts either have the colors of their flag, and/or the flag logo somewhere on them.

This contest will run until October 26, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST. At that time a voting thread will open up.

So what rules are there for this?
>Only one entry per person. (One entry constitutes of both a male and female grunt sprite. You may enter only a male or only a female if you wish.)
>You can modify your entry until the end date
>It must be your original work
>Your entry must be saved as a PNG.

Anyone who participates in this contest will earn 50 points and an egg for the Gotta Catch Em All Gold edition. The winner will receive a rare Pokemon plus they will get the egg and the 50 points from participation. If they are new to GCEA and want to start doing it after the contest, they will get the Rare Pokemon, plus a couple of starter Pokemon and some money.

Took me a while to decide on a base for the grunts...

Does that mean it has to be scratches or can I use a base (in game sprite)? This may be fun to do at school since I recently started liking trainer spriting. :)

Also, what is this gotta catch em all thing? :o

EDIT: Ooh, looks too that game looks complicated. I'll make and post my trainer but not play for the prizes. (Just noticed I can't make the sprite at school because of the PE2K forums being blocked. Maybe I'll do it at home even though I hate the updated version of paint)

You can use another trainer as a base. I just didn't want people stealing other people's art.

Okay, I made my sprites at school today, but when I went to upload it they came up all pixled... Its saved as PNG, do note resize (Same as all my other uploads). So what the hell? Any help woud be great :P

Edit: Ill re-upload it tomorrow, and try again.

Edit Edit: No need! I got it working. I had to press edit, then view image for some reason. Male and Female entries:

That's weird, I've never seen that happen before... I have no idea what to tell you...

How do you make a Sprite? I think I may have a cool idea, but I have no idea how to implement it.

The only answer I can give to that question is this tutorial page.

The cropping and saving tutorial, the recoloring tutorial, and the trainer tutorial should be the best sources of information for this.

Yup. All scratched, except the guy's lower clothes, it's taken from Tabitha (Team Magma Admin)'s outfit.
