I can understand Yu-gi-oh not being picked up 'cause isn't it ending soon anyway? But Pokemon. Losing ratings. Maybe I'd rather see 4kids still in charge if it means I can actually watch it. If it goes to cable, I'm out of the loop.

It's surprising that they would do such a thing considering that Pokemon is a household name. I doubt it's falling ratings that is the case. CW now has to take 48 hours of television per a day and combine it into 24 hours, so half of the stuff is bound to be cut. Unfortunately, pokemon was one of them.

Can't help but say... this looks like the beginning of the end of the Pokemon anime...

And I think falling ratings might be the problem. A lot of people here who used to watch it no longer turn it on, self included. It's just not even half as good as it used to be...

True, it wasn't good as a 4Kids show. Pokemon is no longer a 4Kids show. Pokemon USA have barely started dubbing, and what do we get? A brand new never-before-seen special. Just because it's changing channels doesn't necessarily mean it's falling.

The fact that PUSA is doing this special to commemorate the change should show us what they have in store for the Pokemon anime; they are somewhat of an authority of Pokemon, after.

Besides, you heard the news. CW just wants more Warner Bros. cartoons. There's sure to be at least a few channels that'll be interested in the ratings Pokemon gets. Then again, I'm not American so it won't really bother me if an American channel drops the show...

Yea it's kinda old news. But in short, 4Kids never owned Pokemon. They got a contract from The Pokemon Company in Japan to license the TV series and other Pokemon merchandise. The contract expired this year, and now Pokemon USA is now in control of the TV series and related merchandising.
