Default Quite possibly the greatest shake-up of Pokemon history.

http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wik...velopment_room

"Ken Sugimori ponders evolving Roselia, and also reveals a silhouette of a new Pokémon, revealed in full in the trailer for Diamond and Pearl, thought to be related to Electabuzz.

Shigeki Morimoto reveals that Thunder Punch will be a physical attack, while Hyper Beam becomes a special attack — physical and special are to be set by attack, rather than by type as in previous games. He states that the battle system will be changed "dramatically".

One unnamed female staff member mentions a new Pokémon she saw on Sugimori's screen — the silhouette Sugimori reveals. She also suggests that the three starter types will be Fighting, Psychic and Dark. If this were true, it is likely that the type affinity chart will be changed in order to balance the three.

Fighting, Psychic and Dark? That's just stupid. Why would they change the types of the starters after they've been Water, Fire and Grass for the past three generations?

Why would the change the types??? Its been tradition its stupid to break tradition now.

Besides dark has an immunity to psychic. So that type traingle wont work...

I also dont like the idea of special attacks becoming based on the attack. ANd not based on type....

God Nintendo. Please do not screw up....But it could make some pokemon like Kingler and Crawdnaut useful. 95 STAB from crabhammer physical attack.

But it hinders pokemon like Sceptile and his leaf blade

Fighting, Dark, Psychic? That sounds pretty cool.

Hey guys,
I totally agree with you. I think it should have remained fire, grass and water, since, u then have the triangle where each one is stronger than the other but weak than the other. Was just wondering, how many of you think that the pokemon games after pokemon crystal was released have become worse? I mean I personally think that pokemon crystal is the best one of the pokemon lot, since, when I played the ruby version, it didn't give me the same feeling as I got when I played the crystal one. It seems like they just wanted to add just some more pokemon and release it, didn't feel right.

Believe me, they will NOT change the starting types. It's traditional.

o_o You can't be serious. Nintendo are making it easy for me. In a minute I won't want these games anymore and won't have to spend all my money on a DS.

Anyway, this should be in the DP Discussion thread, so you can continue discussing it there: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/foru...ad.php?t=15577
