Macho brace is something stupid to trick, as most zam counters are slow anyway (snorlax, blissey, dusclops), and zam loses speed for 1 turn, which makes him vulnerable (more than it already is). Trickbanding/knock off is much better

Alakazam@Leftovers
- Calm mind
- Psychic
- Fire punch
- Recover / Hidden power water

Standard special sweeper zam. Recover beats blissey, and hp water is useful for catching claydol/tyranitar on the switch

Alakazam@Leftovers
- Encore
- Calm mind
- Psychic
- Fire punch / Recover

Encore zam is useful for slower set up pokemon like sd celebi/last pokemon curselax/substitute umbreon. It should also beat non thunder wave blissey

Alakazam@Choice band
- Psychic
- Fire punch
- Recover / Focus punch
- Trick

Trickbanding zam. CB focus punch can mess up with snorlax/houndoom/tyranitar switch ins

those are the most useful ones imo; my favorite being encorezam

The best moveset I could think of is:

Alkazam@Leftovers

Phychic
Calm Mind
Recover
Future Sight

It might not be the best, but it it what I would put to my Alakazam.

Cool Re: Alakazam Movesets

I don't know... that Choice Band / Trick deal was pretty good I haven't seen it before.

But yeah most of these guys are right after RBY, Alakazam became way fragile and can't really make that great a use of Recover; and with its HP... well, enough said. If I may, Skill Swap with a Slaking? Works alright since he's pretty fast among Skill Swappers. Then switch it out so (I'm not sure... but, THEORETICALLY) it can come back out with a fresh Inner Focus again. And I agree, Fire Punch > ice or thunderpunch.... Exeggutor and Jynx are also popular Psychic dual types and fire punch trumps 'em both.

and as for nature, I'd only consider Bold or Modest... Timid's okay, but I think Alakazam has good enough speed as it is. Blah (I paradox myself) Bold can help it make better use of Recover is you put EV's in to make sure its HP is an even number.

Hidden Power Dark anybody? just an idea.

No thanks. I don't really like Hidden Powers. But Hidden Power [Dark], no. Anyway, thanks but Lucavi covered the movesets.
