Save infront of where ever you get your starter and see if you pokemon is a shiney, if not turn the Game boy off and keep doing so untill you have it, it may take a looong time.

there's a 1/8192 chance of any Pokemon being shiny. I think it's 1/250 for legendaries.

Getting shining pokemon is just a big waste of time, IMO. They're not any stronger then normal pokemon anyhow.

Sure. It will work, it's just a matter of when...it could take weeks or months to get one (if you have the patience to get one at all).

Shedinja, the only difference bewtween shiny pokemon and normal pokemon is their color. Some people will say that shiny pokemon are more powerful, but that's just not true.

Okay, here's the deal. Every pokemon has shiny version and most people encounter ONE OR MAAAAAAAAAAAYBE TWO. Usually if you've seen two you'll never see one again. Some can come at any point in the game. After about 100 hours of playing I found a shiny zubat while in Granite cave. Actually, shiny pokemon have terrible HP but their where the pokerus virus comes from! I know because I was amazed when my 'pink' crobat had the virus, but none of them else did. Heed this last warning, unless you've had your fill of shiny pokemon don't enter the battle pike because you might find a shiny milotic...like ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Er...no. Shiny pokemon have the same chances of getting good HP as any other pokemon, and the pokerus has nothing to do with shiny pokemon -_-
