Re: Kyogre help...
Try sleeping, freezing, or paralizing him. if that doesn't work weaken him down to 1 hp (might need to try a few times) and let the ultra balls fly

That always work in my book! Not just use ultra balls!Use any kind of ball(ya, I know ultra ball is the best besides the master ball, but I catched a legendary with a Pokeball...You never know...)

Re: Kyogre help...
Putting it to sleep is the best (as well as freezing but that's kind of hard to do) as well as getting it's HP as close to 1 as possible. You can use Ultra Balls but for Kyogre use Net balls (good for catching bug and water pokemon). With using the capture chance formula an ultra ball is only a 2 while if the poke is water a net ball is a 4. So the chances increase quite a bit. Sleep and freeze are a 10 while everything else is only a 5. That's why sleep and freeze are best. If the battle has gone on for quite some time then you can throw timer balls. But they really only start working after like 30 turns and I seriously doubt the battle will last that long. Net balls should be all you need. Kyogre is a lot easier than Groudon to capture just because you can use net balls.

Re: Kyogre help...
I kept at it and weakened Kyogre without using crippling moves like sleep/paralysis and it took me 29 ultra balls to finally catch him.

Re: Kyogre help...
Shedinja, Kyogre can't attack him.
So what you have to do is weaken Kyogre to this point where he is weak enough to catch, and send out Shedinja, and shower Kyogre with pokeball's
Anyway, this would take out some of the challenge, and that is fun part of catching pokemon if you ask me, but suit yourself

Re: Kyogre help...
I attacked him to where he has a sliver of red and just started throwing the net balls.

Re: Kyogre help...
I trained a nincada up to level 25 so it could learn false swipe, cuz that always leaves at least 1hp left, and i let it evolve into a shednija as someone said, he cant attack it.

Re: Kyogre help...
You could just use some strong pokémon (no type disadvantage) to kick the hell out of him, and throw a few ultra/netballs and that should do the trick. I know it worked for me!

Exactly what I did. Here was my strategy:
1 Let Altaria paralyze him with Dragonbreath
2 Send out level 68 Swampert to take the damage
3 If Kyogre healed, send out Altaria again, do Dragonbreath twice so it could get him to red
4 Send out Swampert again
5 And Let the Net Balls fly.
6 If Swampert was about to get killed, use Full Restore
7 Send out Altaria to do Dragonbreath if Kyogre used Rest
8 Send out Swampert again
9 And let the Net Balls fly.
10 Repeat steps 1-10

Re: Kyogre help...
well ehm, that's not what i did nor ment. I was trying to say that you don't actually have to paralyze him or stuff like that, just kick the living **** out of him and capture him. it's as easy as yer ABC!

Re: Kyogre help...
maybe this will help out. i'll post my team to use against it.
*Breloom (32)- Miracle Seed
Mega Drain, Mach Punch, Stun Spore, Leech Seed
*Swellow (37)- Amulet Coin
Fly, Wing Attack, Endeavor, Quick Attack
*Sableye (35)- Soothe Bell
Detect, Fake Out, Faint Attack, Night Shade
*Shedinja (20)- none
Scratch, Fury Swipes, Leech Life, Fury Cutter
*Gardevoir (33)- none
Psychic, Confusion, Calm Mind, Imprison
*Marshtomp (31)- Mystic Water
Take Down, Foresight, Mud Shot, Water Gun
i know about Shedinja and did it once but I don't like using more than 5 Pokeballs to catch it, to me, that's a waste. Breloom isn't fast enough yet so it can't use Stun Spore in time...

Don't you get the amulet coin after you defeat the fifth gym and go see your mom? and those are pretty strong pokémon for the fifth gym..

Re: Kyogre help...
ya, that's when you get the Amulet Coin. Norman wasn't that hard, took me the first time to beat him. anyway, that's kinda off subject to my Kyogre issue at hand.
i know my Pokemon seem like low levels, but that's how i get around the game.

Re: Kyogre help...
Kyogre is only like lv 45. You don't have to even put it to sleep to catch it. Sleep is just best. A friend of mine caught his in less than 30 seconds. He had a lv 20-30 shroomish and had it use leech seed and poison powder and then one headbutt and then threw a net ball and he had it.
Anyhow, with your pokemon just have breloom paralyze it and weaken it down with whatever and then throw net balls. (Btw net balls go for 1,000 in mossdeep.) If you want just maybe give your breloom a quick claw (teacher at pokemon school in rustboro) for the chance to attack first or consider training at least breloom to like level 40 if you really feel the need to. Your gardevoir and marshtomp could be of use too. So if you want train them a little too. The other thing you could do is send shedinja out just for a really long stall war so kyogre runs out of pp and uses struggle killing shedinja and then use breloom if you're afraid of icebeam... But honestly I think you could catch kyogre with your team as it is now without training.
If you're wondering how I caught it I just had my lv 54 breloom use spore and then hacked away at it until it was in the red. I also had a grovyle w/ falseswipe (fun file) but I didn't need it. Battle was over in like 5 min tops.
