Speed and Run...

Anyways, I wanted to ask. I heard that Speed directly affects capability to run away from wild Pokemon. Is that true or just a myth? I tried it but it seems the same, whether I used Ampharos or Sceptile...

Speed doesn't make it so you can run away every time. Speed does increase the chances of you being able to RUN every time, but it will make it so you are more likely to escape, not so you can just escape every time. Speed's purpose it mostly to raise a pokemon's speed so that it can make to 1st move in most battles.

But yes, speed does affect your chance of successfully running away from a wild pokemon. For example, a Swellow has a much better chance of escaping than a Graveler.

Not sure of the relevance of this, but I've personally found on all of my games that the over all higher LV of your Pokemon in comparison to the opponent gives you a better chance of running away (I have LV 15 Mudkip, vs LV 20 Zubat, it takes 3 tries to run, but I come back later with LV 24 Mudkip and run on the first try). I'm not saying this is a true proven fact, but it seems to always end up like that on every one of my games. If any one else has a reason to this, post it, but I can say, a Pokemon that was train'd to a higher LV would have more speed, but the fact that I see this happen even with slower-vs-faster Pokemon, might mean something else is at play .
