That's not to say that threads like this are bad, because they aren't. In fact, I think I've got the solution to this mystery. Before, I thought it was Giovanni. But, after alot of thought, I changed my mind and decided that it's the very last person anyone would ever think of, even though he's in Pokemon on a regular basis. See, no other theory about Ash's dad holds a candle to him possibly being the only main character that we never see.

That's right. He's the Narrator. Think about it. He's always where the gang is, he seems to know where the characters are, even when they don't know half the time. Also, one other fact that nails it. We don't know where he is! We just hear his voice. He never shows himself.

Therefore, that's gotta be Ash's dad.

Why do you think he has to talk about Ash in every episode?

Best idea I've ever heard but a problem with that is...he's not a trainer and Ash's mom says hes a trainer

It couldn't be Brandon. See, he has brown hair, and Ash's mom has brown hair. So that wouldn't add up as black hair.

Well if you wanted to get all sciencey Brandon could he a hybrid brown hair kid. (One gene brown one gene black, but black was dominant). He could have black hair because it would have been a 1/4 chance. Which means it is possible.

Going by anime canon, I used to think it was Giovanni. I still kinda like that idea, even though it's probably not true and we'll probably never find out who his dad really is. As for the Fire Red/Leaf Green thing, I consider that to be different from the anime. The anime and video games are two different things and... yeah. I'm gonna stop before this stops making sense. XD

brendan in r/s/e his dad has got black hair and his mum has brown hair i think so why does he have white hair there's always a possiblty

the dad has been mentioned once the first episode ash goes to somewhere he phones his mum and said your dad will be so proud to know you reached there it took him ages to get there which shows that ash dad is either dead or travveling

Actually Brendan has Black hair, what appears to be white hair is actually a hat O_o

In my opinion, I don't think we'll ever know who Ash's Dad is, although the narrator theory is pretty good...
