Default NB Team

Hmmm... what do you guys think? I tried to give it some sort of strategy... though it kinda sux... only a 57% power on NB... lol... judge away!

Heh... and this will be the first time I include EV's in my post, so be prepared! lol... Oh and thanks Raik for mentioning the File<Export to Txt trick... saved me alot of typing! lol...

Take these rules into consideration when you judge my team... it will be used for the War NB section:

-No more than one of the same item.
-No ubers
-etc... please look in the thread for more info about the war battles.

Flora Elite Matthew's Team

Breloom (F) @ Quick Claw ** Andi
Grass/Fighting
Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Mach Punch
- Spore

Eh... Quick Claw for the first move for a quick Spore. The opponent is then asleep. You then load up a Focus Puch, ensuring a hit because they can stay sleeping, or they switch... either way, they are screwed. HP: Ghost for Psychics and Mach Punch for a quick KO. A Very Nifty mon. Adamant Nature for an increase in Attack, and EV's in Atk and Spd. You guessed it... he is one of my sweepers.

Raticate (F) @ ??? ** Stuart
Normal
Trait: Guts
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Return
- Shadow Ball
- Super Fang

Another Sweeper... eh? Super Fang to cut in half and Return for the STAB and with the speed of this rat... going first should not usually be a problem. HP: Fighting and Shadow ball are fillers. EV's in atk and spd for obvious reasons. Can anybody suggest an item? kthxbai.

Milotic (F) @ (No Item) ** Ariel
Water
Trait: Marvel Scale
EVs: 129 HP / 252 Def / 129 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Mirror Coat
- Recover
- Refresh
- Surf

Meh... an annoying tank... gotta love it ^^;. She is so pretty too! hehe. Umm... where to start. Marvel Scale raises SpD (??) when 25% below health, Recover to heal, refresh to get rid opf annoying status conditions, Mirror Coat to counter special attacks (Tbolt, etc) and Surf to attack! Ummm... EV's in HP and both defenses to help add to Milo's tankness.

Crobat (M) @ (No Item) ** Crabbe
Poison/Flying
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP / 129 Def / 129 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Protect
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic
- Whirlwind

Hehe... a Psuedohazer... so annoying! Ummm.... Inner Focus to increase rate of ch (SBomb) and Toxic to annoy . Protect to help with the Toxic effect and a Whirlwind to toxify their whole team (If performed correctly.) EV's in HP and both defenses to help intensify Cro's staying power.

Ninetales (F) @ Shell Bell ** Vixon
Fire
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 129 HP / 129 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Confuse Ray
- Flamethrower
- Safeguard
- Will-O-Wisp

Hmmm.... I kinda wanted a Ninetailes worked into my team... sort of an annoyer I guess. CRay to confuse them to risk their chance of hurting me... ummm.... WoW to burn them and decrease their attack so she can stay in their longer.... ummm.... and SGaurd to have Ninetales not inflicted w/ anything. EV;s to help give 9tales stay power.

Alakazam (F) @ BrightPowder ** Piper
Psychic
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Punch
- Psychic
- Reflect
- Thunder Wave

Hmmm.... Alakazam is my Special Sweeper. Ala has always been my fave mon ^^:. Ummm, Bright Powder to decrease the enemy's chance of hitting Ala with a strong physical attak. Ice Punch for diversity and Psychic for uber damage! Reflect to help Ala last longer and TWave to PRZ them for being bad . Timid Nature increases her speed and lowers her useless Atk. EV's in Spd and SAtk to increase Ala's strenghth.

Hmmm... I guess you can work with that... there is enough detail there for ya! GL and HF judging my team.

First off, team power doesn't really mean much in NB, it's just a general estimate given the base stats of your mon and such, so don't worry if you only have a 50% power fighting a 60% one, tho 60% or higher teams tend to have at least 1 uber.

Breloom: Looks good, I guess, I'm no expert when it comes to RS, but this breloom looks nice. (Love your nickname, ha ha shroomie)

Raticate: I'd go for a jolly Nature instead to boost that 293 speed to even higher so you can compete with some of the base 100 speedsters, I guess. In terms of items, Maybe Choice band? Although remember the drawback for Choice band tho.

Milotic: Looks nice. Leftovers?

Crobat: Inner focus prevents Flinch, not increases CH rate.... Crobat is definately better as a sweeper with Choice band and a Jolly nature, like Raticate, but if you use Choice band here, maybe you have no need for raticate. attackwise, since it'd be a sweeper, go for sweeping moves :x

Ninetales: Uh, no idea in terms of this pokemon, but it looks nice. Activate flash fire and pwn, no?

Zam: Go for a modest Nature if you feel like, but Timid is nice too. Item wise, maybe Lum berry is better? Zam doesn't really have staying power, so you might as well make it a sweeper with an attack over reflect or something.

Edit: While Milotic is your tank for special attacks, who would you end up turning to if you faced a physical sweeper?

That is the only reason I hesitate using it...

I replaced with a Miltank.. I love miltank =^.^=

I replaced Ninetales with a Torkoal. Any better? Nice Defense and such...

Trait: Effect Spore
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Focus Punch
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Mach Punch
- Spore

This is a standard set pretty much, and works. I usually prefer Jolly Brelooms.

Raticate (F) @ ??? ** Stuart
Normal
Trait: Guts
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Return
- Shadow Ball
- Super Fang

Raticate.. nice. Super Fang is nice for those tanks, however it could benefit from a support move in its place. Your choice there. Make it Jolly too.

Milotic (F) @ (No Item) ** Ariel
Water
Trait: Marvel Scale
EVs: 129 HP / 252 Def / 129 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Mirror Coat
- Recover

Annoying and good. I might put Ice Beam over MC, but both work well.

Miltank (F) @ Ganlon Berry ** Got Milk?
Normal
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 129 Def / 129 SDef
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Milk Drink
- Heal Bell
- Thunder Wave
- Siesmic Toss

Standard, but dies to Leechers. Just keep that in mind.

Torkoal (M) @ Chesto ** Keifer
Fire/Rock
Trait: White Smoke
EVs: 252 HP / 129 Def / 129 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Amnesia
- Yawn
- Flamethrower
- Rest

Could be interesting...

Alakazam (F) @ BrightPowder ** Piper
Psychic
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Punch
- Psychic
- Reflect
- Thunder Wave

I really dont see the need for thunder wave or reflect on zam since it has awful staying power. Recover over Reflect, Fire Punch over Twave. Lum Berry over BPowder

hmm, I would go sub over mach punch, helps to avoid status effects and assists with the focus punching aspect.

Breelom's set is staying... Mach Pnch has always been a life saver for me... and it is a great move... no sub... i don't like it.

...

Return is fine... Id rather not inflict damage from recoil. HP Fight... Ill think about changing it.

...

Milotic shall now get Ice beam! I don't like MC anyway... can never pull it off...

...

3...2...1... POOF!

Alakazam has forgotten Twave and has learned Fire Punch!

3...2...1... POOF!

Alakazam has forgotten Reflect and has learned Recover!

Thanks guys... I'm gonna go xperiment on NB... see ya!

Breloom: What about, Swords Dance, Mach Punch, Sky Uppercut, HP Ghost? Zangoose style. Or, Substitute, Leech Seed, HP Ghost, Mach Punch - Sceptile Style? Give him Liechi Berry.

Raticate: Meh, it'll Super Fang and die. I prefer the Choice Band set. Return, Shadow Ball, Facade, Hidden Power Ground. Or Endeavor, Quick Attack, Shadow Ball, Substitute. If you're going with the second set, 24/232/0/252/0/0, Jolly Nature. Maybe attach Lax Incense/Brightpowder/Focus Band for some hax.

Milotic: I prefer Toxi-Stalling. Ice Beam, Recover, Surf, Toxic. 148/0/224/8/128/0, Calm Nature. Attach Leftovers.

Miltank: I'd go with Lum Berry, just incase it freeze or something.

Blazekin: Yea, I really think this pogeys is the only fire you should be playing with. Focus Punch, Overheat, Rock Slide, Sky Uppercut. Give it Shell Bell I suppose.

Alakazam: It really can't use Recover, too fragile. Calm Mind over it. Thunder Punch over Fire Punch. Attach Salac/Petaya Berry.

If Zam is too fragile IYO to use Recover, it's too fragile to use Calm Mind. It still gets owned by physical attacks either way. At least with Recover it can keep its HP up rather than waste time raising an already uber sp.attack.

Also, who said anything about a Blaziken?

I think cause he thinks I want a fire pogey... but I am using Torkoal as a Physical Tank... so I am not switching for Blazi... I have enough sweepers already.

I don't think it wise to make Torkoal a physical tank since it's weak to two of the most widely used physical attacks: Earthquake and Rock Slide.

I know... but the way my EV's are set up and cause torkoal has such a high defense, Earthquake doesn't do much damage. Yes it can take a chunk of HP away, but it isn't anything substantial... maybe aBOUT 1/5 of my HP... I've already been attacked by EQ with Torkoal... I like him so he is staying.

You sure about Earthquake taking only 20% of Torkoal's max HP? Toxic, Yawn, Flamethrower, Protect then. (Toxi-Shuffler!). Attach Leftovers on Torkoal, and give Milotic Brightpowder. If you want an all-round Tank, 220/0/20/0/16/252, Modest Nature. If a Physical Tank, 220/0/252/0/36/0, Bold Nature. Skarmory is better in every aspect though..

Alakazam is fragile, but not fragile against Special Attack with Calm Mind. Recover I wouldn't use, because Thunder/Ice Punch for verstality, Psychic for STAB - those three are necessary imo. If you anticipate a status or KO, just attack/switch. Timing is important here. With Petaya Berry/Salac Berry, it can sweep floors. So I would rather have Calm Mind rather than Recover for firepower.

Iknow... if I use that (CM) They use a physical attack... ploop! I'm dead.

It may have been al ittle more damage on Torkoal, but It didn't do much...

Flora Elite Matthew's Keifer: 344 HP
T-bonefish's Sceptile: 41% HP

Begin Turn #24
Sceptile used Earthquake!
(84 damage)
It's super effective!

It was a Sceptile (High attack im sure)... (24% Damage)

I can still survive 1 or two EQs but if I know a STABbed EQ is coming I will switch out.

If any of you are interested in seeing my team in action, go here:

It is my NB logs.

A non-STABbed EQ from Sceptile is nothing. Thickwak would send it to the grave, as would Aerodactyl, and any Dragon Dancer (esp Gyarados cause flamethrower wont do much to it)

Also: It's pure fire, not fire/rock...
