heheheh... for a second, I thought the title of this thread was, "Favorite Pokemon Movie". Then I realized it wasn't.

Anyway, Aura Sphere is the best. 90 Power, 20 PP, AND it always hits no matter what! THAT is one obnoxiously good move! Most Pokemon learn it at level 90-100, but Lucario learns it at LEVEL 37! I am SO getting Lucario when I get my Pearl Version!

my oppinion is that metronome is near the best because of its ability to get any move but it is to random, maybe something like disable or imprison

Magnitude is too random. I hate it when you get a magnitude4 and you can't faint a pokemon with a weakness to ground attacks.

I'd have to disagree with you all on the ghost type move, it'd have to be Shadow Force or Ominous Wind, possibly even Shadow Claw, I think they've really enhanced the ghost types in D/P.

If I had taken the time to check every move, including the DP ones I'm sure my list would be very different.

The best pokemon moves for each type are...

Grass: Leaf Blade/Spore Poison: Poison Fang/Toxic
Bug: Signal Beam/Silver Wind Fire: Flamethrower/Heat Wave
Water: Surf/Water Pulse Ice: Ice Beam/Aurora Beam
Electric: Thunderbolt/Thunder Wave Rock: Ancient Power/Rock Slide
Fighting: Brick Break/Reversal Ground: Earthquake/Sand Tomb
Psychic: Psychic/Rest Ghost: Shadow Ball/Confuse Ray
Dark: Crunch/Fake Tears Steel: Iron Tail/Metal Claw
Normal: Swords Dance/Slash Flying: Drill Peck/Aerial Ace
Dragon: Dragon Claw/Outrage

This is why I chose them
Leaf Blade and Slash have boosted critical-hit ratio. Spore, Thunder Wave, Toxic, and Confuse Ray all cause status conditions and have 100% accuracy. Signal Beam, Poison Fang, Water Pulse, and Rock Slide all do damage and can cause a status condition. Silver Wind, Aurora Beam, Ancient Power, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Crunch, Iron Tail, and Metal Claw all do some damage while either raising one of your stats or lowering one of your opponent's. Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Drill Peck, and Dragon Claw have 100% accuracy and do tons of damage. Heat Wave and Surf hit both opponents in double battles. Rest and Reversal are useful in many combos. Sand Tomb causes damage each turn, Aerial Ace never misses, Outrage can take a lot of pokemon out, and Brick Break destroys Reflect and Light Screen. Finally, Swords Dance and Fake Tears greatly increase the damage you do.

Magnitude is good once in Emerald I was fighting a Geodude and was using an Aron and I remember it saying "Magnitude 9!" and Aron fainted. But then again it is random...

I think it depends upon a person's own preference. I like accurate moves with plenty of PP, like Ice Beam and Thunderbolt, so I'd pick those over Blizzard or Thunder.
