Talking Ths is the master guide come in!

Shoal Cave

Just North of Mossdeep City, on Route 125, there is a cave. Wow. How can you contain your excitement? What, you say, is so "special" about this cave that it deserves it's own page? Well, the answer is because it one of the only factors in Ruby/ Sapphire that is affected by the time of day.

OK OK, so maybe it isn't that fascinating. The main use of it though, is that a man gives out free* Shell Bells- an item which allows the holder to recover HP equal to 1/8 of the damage it deals out. Pretty useful.

Providing you give him the ingredients first- Shoal Salt and Shoal Shells can be found all over the place in the cave.

Now back onto (or rather into) Shoal Cave. It has 3 separate floors, at Low Tide you can explore all 3 floors, but at High Tide you can only explore the first floor. You can however get some items that you can't get at Low Tide. To explore them all properly you will need a Pokemon with HM 03 (Surf) and
HM 04 (Strength).

Shoal Cave is the Ruby/ Sapphire equilivent of the Ice Path, meaning of course that it has an infamous (but easier) sliding ice puzzle. Getting around the cave is reasonably easy and not something you should really struggle with. If however you do struggle then just send me a message saying where you are and how you're lost.

The Items

These are the following items which can be found in Shoal Cave:

Shoal Salt (x4)
Shoal Shell (x4)
Big Pearl
Ice Heal
Focus Band
Nevermeltice
Rare Candy
TM 07 (Hail)
Pokemon- High Tide

On any floor, whilst fishing, walking or surfing you may find:

Magikarp (Old Rod- Very Common, Good Rod- Very Common)
Spheal (Common)
Tentacool (Very Common, Old Rod- Common, Good Rod- Common)
Wailmer (Good Rod- Common, Super Rod- Very Common)
Zubat (Common)
Pokemon- Low Tide

On any floor whilst walking you may find:

Golbat (Rare)
Spheal (Very Common)
Zubat (Very Common)
Snorunt (Common)
Notes

Snorunt is only found on Floor B2F-(thats the one with the ice).
Low Tide: 3pm- 9pm, 3am- 9am
Hide Tide: 9am- 3pm, 9pm- 3am
