Yu-gi-oh: Duel Monsters GX?

Has anyone seen any of this new Duel Monsters anime?

Yup, eight episodes have thus far been premiered in Japan. I've seen the first 2 episodes so far, and I think it's pretty good.

Well, the new main character is Yuki Juudai, a new student at the Duelist's Academy. The school is split up into three houses: Osiris Red, Ra Yellow, and Obelisk Blue. Yuki is in Osiris Red. Yugi appears and give Yuki a card (Hane Kurboh); as far as I know, that's the only appearance any of the old characters make in this series.

For some reason people at the school, including professors call Yuki "Dropout Boy", and Professor Chronos challenges him to a duel. Yuki seems like he's going to lose at first, but then he is able to beat the Professor.

In the second episode, another student, who is said to by the #1 duelist at the school sends a message for Yuki to come to the Obelisk Blue Dueling Arena (he's in Obelisk Blue, obviously) at midnight. Yuki duels him and wins (barely).

That's all I've seen so far.

Yeah, the school is set up to be a bit harry-potterish, but the houses are the most similar part; it's set up a bit differently otherwise.

If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy the union equip instead.

WHat happens to Yugi (the Pharoe as he's referred to) and his alter ego (the good Yugi as I nickname him, advisor and such), and to all his friends? Have they been written out of the new season going on in Japan? Do you think Fall of 2005, they'll show the new Yu-gi-oh on WB? I'm not familiar with the deals WB has for the kids' programs, except for the yearly renewals of Pokemon. DId Yugi and his friends get hurt in some way or was it riding off into the sunset like episode? Also, did Yugi ever accomplish all his goals? It seems his destiny is to be a master of the dueling card battles. I thought the girls looked great in the show, especially Yugi the Pharoe's friend.

Anyway, I heard that there where gonna be some crazy new duel disks showing up in this series instead of the standard Kaibacorp ones, which is kind of odd since Kaiba is the one who sponsors the school (From what I heard) Knowing my sources though, they're probably off by about a hundred thousand miles and one foot.

FYI, I think you mean "Pharaoh", not "pharoe"

Yugi, and the rest of the original cast (with the exception of Yugi being in ONE scene in ep. 1 of this series are not in GX. This is a new series with a new cast.

And, yes, and know for a fact that the WB is going to show this in English; they've already announced that they will, though I doubt it'll be put on by the fall of '05, they still have to show the rest of the DOMA saga, the KC Grand Prix, and the Pharaoh's Memory saga of the original series first. But, rest assured that Yu-gi-oh GX IS going to be shown in the US.

And yes, the first series did come to its proper conclusion. The driving factor of the show was the mysteries of the pharoah's life which were forgotten. By episode 200 (the last ep. of the first series), all is explained.

btw,i wanna say that i really like genkai battle (ed theme).masami okui sang it again!!(she sang 'shuffle',3rd op theme for yugioh b4,as my sig)BUT WT MAKE ME SURPRISE IS rica matsumoto is the one of the main singers!but wait,do u no who is she...?!she is the dubbing artist of satoshi,or ash ketchum in japan.u no,she sang many songs for pokemon and now she sang for yugioh!!this really surprise me....it's impossible (i think but i dunno y i think so)they r both my favourite singers.... they sang in the same song >v<
