In my opinion this was by far the weakest elite four. I had a bit of a problem with sapphire because i had nothing good against dragons. Then in kanto the first time was easy but the second time it took me three tries, but after raising my mewtwo to level 85 they were no match for me. Hopefully the upgrade will be harder.

Funny that you claim them to be easy, while your team is loaded with Legendaries. That makes anything easy.

And yes, they're easy. I did it with four randoms + untrained Dialga that I just used as a placeholder while using revives.

Why is there a bug trainer and not a dragon trainer instead? I mean basically anything can beat bugs in pokemon.

Oh and having three legends was not by design. I was going to use dialga and mesprit, but then after my first five i had nothing good my next best was a lv. 35 pachirisu so i went with a lv. azelf. I wanted to use a garchomp but i couldn't find a gible now i have.

Nintendo probably wanted something different. But yes, there is no way you can make a team of 5/6 bugs without a few crappy ones. But some bug pokes are strong when used properly like Scizor, Heracross and Ninjask (Yes, Ninjask. It is good for clearing up after sweepers).

The real question is why they had a fire trainer with only two fire Pokémon. Now that's stupid.

if i remember correctly, my pokemon that beat the elite four for the first time were:

luxray

infernape

staraptor

floatzel

uxie

dialga


i can't remember the exact levels, but i know they were all at least level 60.

But remember that the E4 of this league have pokemon with attacks that are a disavantage on their weak types. Let's take Flint's Infernape for example, he has Thunder Punch, making him inmune to Flying and Water Pokemon.

Well, pretty much any Pokémon can learn Sunny Day. Why teach it to a Lopunny? Why not teach it to a fire Pokémon instead? Oh that's right, there are no fire Pokémon.

If you ask me, it's a lot of stretching when they could have just given him a different type, or put in a few more fire-types for him to play with.

I think I just came with a solution.

There are only 5 new fire pokemon (not including Arceus) in Sinnoh.

Infernape is on his team so he's okay.

Heatran is a legend so he just can't be on the team.

Magmortar isn't in the Dex yet. (You still complete the dex WITHOUT HIM) Therefore, he is not to be introduced in the E4.

They HAD to use Rapidash since it's the last fire type in Sinnoh.

And so yeah. They needed some replacement pokemon that you can catch
