A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50." The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50.

How did the man win the bet?

A logician with some time to kill in a small town decided to get a haircut. The town had only two barbers, each with his own shop. The logician glanced into one shop and saw that it was extremely untidy. The barber needed a shave, his clothes were unkempt, his hair was badly cut. The other shop was extremely neat. The barber was freshly shaved and spotlessly dressed, his hair neatly trimmed.

Why did the logician return to the first shop for his haircut?

Answered By uxie: Since there were only two barbers in the town, each of them must have cut each other's hair. So that means since the first barber cut the second barber's well, and the sencond barber cut the first barber's hair badly, that means that barber one has the better haircuts.

A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in.

What should have he said?

Romeo and Juliet are found dead on the floor in a bedroom. When they were discovered, there were pieces of glass and some water on the floor. The only furniture in the room is a shelf and a bed. The house in is a remote location, away from everything except for the nearby railway track.

Samuel was out for a walk when it started to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet.

Times are hard in a small rural town, business is slowing and people are moving out. It so happens that there are two horse-dealerships in town. Unfortunately there's only enough people to support one of the dealerships. So the two owners meet and decide that one of them must leave town. Since neither of them want to leave they devise a competition to see who gets to stay. It is decided that they will race their horses across town. Now they don't want to damage their horses, so they change the race rule so that whoever?s horse crosses the finish post LAST wins the race and gets to stay in town. So the next day they set off. Both are ambling along, taking rests and getting nowhere nearer to finishing. After a few hours a wise old man tells them to dismount and gives them some advice. After which the two sprint back to the horses, get on and gallop towards the finish line. Assuming that the race rules were not changed.

What advice did the old man give them?

One morning a man is leaving on business trip and finds he left some paperwork at his office. He runs into his office to get it and the night watchman stops him and says, "Sir, don't get on the plane. I had a dream last night that the plane would crash and everyone would die!" The man takes his word and cancels his trip. Sure enough, the plane crashes and everyone dies. The next morning the man gives the watchman a $1,000 reward for saving his life and then fires him.

Why did he fire the watchman that saved his life?

While exploring the wilds of Canada, George was captured by hostile wood fairies. Zion, the powerful chief of the fairies told him he could make one final statement which would determine how he would die. If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water. If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil. George found neither of this options too his liking, so he made a statement that got him out of this seemingly impossible situation.

A sheik announced that a race would decide which of his two sons would inherit all his wealth. The sons were to ride their camels to a certain distant city. The son whose camel reached the city last would be given all the sheik's wealth. The two sons set out on the journey. After severals days of aimless wandering, they met and agreed to seek the advice of a wiseman. After listening to the wiseman's advice, the two sons rode the camels as quickly as possible to the designated city.

What was it that the wiseman told the two sons?

Hint: They did not agree to split the wealth, and their father's decree would be followed.

No. 2, wild guess, he won because he tricked the boy into playing a different game.

For #2, the man wrote down all the numbers from 1 to 500, or some wide range like that. The boy could not deny that his weight was among the ones written down, and conceded that the man never said he would only write one number. He gave up the money.

For #3, you need to take into account that these are the only two shops in town. Whenever anyone wants a haircut, they have to visit one of these two shops. The reason the logician didn't go to the clean one was because he knew that in order to keep the shop clean, the barber must have had enough time on his hands to clean it. Therefore, he can't have had many customers, or else he would be too busy. For the messy shop, the inverse is true. The barber had so many customers that he didn't have enough time or staff to clean up. In addition, the fact that it's messy implies that something happened to mess it up in the first place. The fact that it's very messy must have meant that lots of things happened to mess it up. This is further evidence that the barber has given more haircuts that day.

Of course, it could also be that the cleaner one is likely to have higher prices, since the barber has more money to higher cleaning staff.
