I've read that F/L is coming out Sep1, so, can you wait that long? Also, which game has the most Pokemon in it that you wont?

If u miss the old RBY pokemon more than the new ones, u shall buy FL.

I say get a jump on Hoenn and buy Ruby or Sapphire. FR/LG won't be coming out until at LEAST the middle of the year, and all it is is a remake of the first Pokemon games with added features. R/S is an awesome world, and I must have restarted a dozen times because I absolutely love the colorful graphics and more freedom.

Well it's what ever you want. personally I would get Fire Red because I already have both Sapphire and Ruby but if I didn't i'd save up money and buy both
