Default Skarmory

I mean Spikes is Unique to a few pokemon and does descent damage if you can get a few layers down but doesnt hit Flying Types or those with the Levitate ability.

Stealth Rock hits everything but does little damage to things that resist it.

So my question is which would be best on Skarmory Spikes or Stealth rock ?

I like to use SR, but it really is your choice.

Don't make a Skarm-weak Leman team, if you want to use Spikes over Stealth Rock, go ahead, it is more recommended.

A team that have Pokemon weak agianst Skarmory, and battling agianst Leman's Team. Now that is a meaning of Skarm-weak Leman Team.

You really can't be Skarmory weak, as Skarm isn't a Sweeper. You can be walled by Skarm though.

Leman, we are still good friends right? No hard feelings, I just like to play with you alot. LOl, yeah, not the sweeping Skarmory, just the fact a team that is getting screwed by Skarmory's spikes, and its impish nature defensive skills, I'm sure you already know about all of that.

Please, get back on topic.

Anyway, as for the question, it's hard for me to say. I guess it depends on what your team is based. Like, if your main sweeper was Heracross, then SR would be more beneficial to hurt its most common counters (Gyara and Mence), but if your team is based on something like Tyranitar, then spikes are better to hurt defensive grounds each time they switch in

Well, there's definitely nothing wrong with both. In fact, they work very well together. Stealth Rock hits whoever is immune to Spikes prety hard, like a Dragonite, and probably does more damage. The only thing is levitaters like Bronzong, which are the exceptions.

I'd teach it Spikes. You can always teach Stealth Rock to something else.

Indeed, however, the problem with that is that you'd lose either Drill Peck or Roost, both which are very valuable to Skarm for different reasons

This has aways been my favorite:

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Drill Peck
- Whirlwind
- Substitute

That will always be my best one. ^^; Although, I still haven't try out the Choice Bander yet.

I would take away Roar/Whirlwind for it. And then just wall with Skarm, until the opponent has to switch out.

Whirlwind (better than Roar since your opponent might have soundproof) is necessary as a means of P-Hazing. Like whenever I am up against a BP-ing Ninjask, I am always prepared to Whirlwind away either the Ninjask itself or the recipient, which is probably something that Skarm can wall but should still get rid of (and piss off your opponent lol). As long as you have ok prediction and a threat with multiple stat boosts, Whirlwind could always come in handy.

Whirlwind Drill Peck is illegit.
There's a conflict in breeding chains.
