Default Mic help in wifi

How do you turn off your mic while in wifi? I cant figure it out. Help please, I feel like a tool when everyone I trade with can hear me at home and I can't fix it.

Press the 'x' button when you connect to WiFi before you trade/battle or anything and it'll turn Voice Chat off.

How do you get Voice Chat? I remembered hearing somebody shouting bad words at somebody while I was on WiFi with somebody...

Why is everyone so concerned about turning it off? No one's gonna make fun of you for breathing. Voice chat is such a cool, unique, and innovative feature, yet no one really seems to like it.

It's because it's so awkward and people don't really know what to say. It's more an anxiety issue than anything else.

Then don't say anything. I really don't think it feels awkward at all. It's the exact same as Xbox live chat, yet no one seems to think that's awkward.

its weird to hear someone breathing, lol

i think it would be better if we could edit the pitch and deepness of voice, so i could sound like a storm trooper or something

It's also a safety issue if your trading or battling with someone that you met over the internet.

I understand that.

I use voice chat to cumminicate with the leader of my clan. We talk and stratagize. I find it a useful feature.

@Ninja Ralts:
You can turn down the volume so you can't hear the other side.
I do that sometimes.

You don't have to say anything, but the other person might. In my earlier days of battling and trading I had voice chat on and the guy sounded like he was trying to molest me or something. It was very disturbing.
