seeing pokemon to trade for them on GTS

hey guys,

i'm new to the GTS system on pearl, and am a bit curious about something.

i see a lot of trades asking for a deoxys for example, how is that possible?
as i understand it, you can't search for a pokemon you haven't seen before in your pokedex, and it's not like its possible to see a deoxys in pearl or diamond.

is there some trick to having all the pokemon sighted in your pokedex?
how would anyone ever own every pokemon when you have to 'see' them in your pokedex before you can trade for them on GTS? :/

after you have beaten the elite 4 you can trade pokemon from previous games the games are leaf green, fire red, emerald, saphire and ruby

Maybe they had it but traded it away for something now they want it back or they hacked one and they want a legit

so really the only way to fill your pokedex in d/p is to transfer off older versions.. you can't complete it by using the GTS alone, since you still won't have seen a lot of pokemon.. :(

oh umm.. can someone confirm that there is no way to transfer pokemon transitively from G/S to D/P?

i read it somewhere earlier, but i was under the impression you could transfer from G/S to R/S? (so then you could transfer straight to d/p)
