Focus Blast - Pokemon Forum

I was wondering, shouldnt focus blast be a pschychic move, not fighting?
Because focusing is technically a Pshychic feature, then blast, thats not fighting.
So should focus blast not be fighting then?

Yeah but its nice to have a special fighting move so you can possible KO Blissey with it.

Yea, i like the move, if it only had 100% accuracy, but still, it shoudnt be fighting, the naem of the move does not fittt.

Throughout the game, focusing has been assiciated with fighting, so it's no supprize that when they made Focus Blast, they made it a fighting type move.

It's like Focus Punch.

If I'm focusing on your post right now, does that make me a psychic? Hardly.

I imagine it's supposed to be something like the ki blasts you see in Dragonball.

I know, but Focus punch is fighting because it is focus punch.
But since its focusing a blast, it would be from a eminating power, not be a fighting move.
Its like squirting a water gun at someone, and saying its a fighting move.

So should Shadow Ball be a dark type? It has Shadow in the name, and shadows are dark.

You can't judge a move by its name. What if Psychic actually involved bumrushing your opponent and sticking a spoon in their nose? Would it still be psychic then? Probably not. You have to look at the effect of the move itself.

In the case of Focus Blast, I'm guessing it's supposed to be like DBZ. Intense medication (Focus :o) leads to a manifestation of energy (Blast).

Aura Sphere is a fighting move as well.
