Chaos

Skies crash and buildings burn.
People die while children cry,
And I stand there in pain.
I cry to the Heavens: why?

The world’s been torn,
And a new age is born.
An age of death and darkness.
An age of chaos.

Bodies litter the streets,
Blood splatters the ground,
And we try to escape,
But we’re all bound.

Left and right, back and forth,
We run and hide.
Yet this is where we belong.
We brought ourselves down in all out might.

I fall and cry.
There’s no hope but I try.
Water stills and birds fly.
And once again I ask why…

When will we be saved?

Stay With Me

I want you to know,
That I’ll always be here.
I’ll be by your side forever.
I’ll be the one you love.

The one to hold you.
The one to soothe you.
The one to keep you safe.
My mind thinks of nothing but you.

So please don’t ever leave me.
Stay with me, as I’d stay with you.
Together we can live.
Together we can be so much more.

That was our vow to each other.
To be together forever.
Never backing out.
Never breaking.

Friends for life.
Lovers for eternity.
Together forever.
No one could be more perfect together…

Our love is unbreakable.

Hear my Cry

I cry out to you.
Listen to me.
Please, let me love you.
Show me a light…

Don’t leave me here.
Take me with you.
Let me hold you in my arms.
Don’t turn away…

I can’t stand this agony.
I won’t live without you.
But you won’t hear me.
My life cries itself out…

Give me warmth.
Give me love.
Give me life.
Take my breath away…

Again I ask if you’ll hear my cry.
My plea to you.
My eyes fill with tears
As you turn to walk away again…

Never will my life be completed.

Darkness Within

The people can’t see,
The darker side of me.
They refuse to believe what I can be.
A being of darkness, eternally.

But they don’t understand,
We all have a dark side.
It only comes forth when necessary.
Deep within, its time it bides.

To conquer it, you must embrace it.
To embrace it, you must befriend it.
To befriend it, you must respect it.
To respect it, you must fear it.

But what is it good for?
Darkness is nothing.
Nothing but rage and anger.
Hate.

What it’s good for?
Without darkness there is no light.
But don’t let it take you.
We all have the power to fight…

To fight the darkness within.

Falling Over

Push me down,
Leave me there,
Lying flat,
On the ground.

Pick me up,
Help me now.
Grab my hand,
Bring me to my feet.

And so it goes,
All day long,
Every time I fall,
You burst into song.

One day though,
You’ll be here,
Down here with me,
Can’t you see?

And when you fall,
I’ll get up,
And walk away.
You can stay there…

I’m not going to help you.

Look Around

Look around.
What do you see?
And when people come by,
What do you think?

He’s ugly.
She’s sexy.
That one’s cripple.
And look at that fool.

Why pay attention?
They’re people.
If they have a flaw, who cares?
They’re living their lives.

When looking at others,
Don’t look at the outer shell.
It means nothing.
It’s the inside that counts.

Get to know them.
You’ll find their appearance
Makes no difference.
Look around again. What do you see?

People. Just like me.

Meaning

As the cool, night air whips my face,
I stare at the stars above.
One thought’s on my mind,
The only thought I’ve never been able to erase.

What is my purpose here?
What am I supposed to do?
I believe in so much,
Yet receive so little.

Am I here to make a difference?
Or am I nothing but a pawn?
I think about this,
All the way until dawn.

I’ll find out.
I’ll know my purpose.
And the reason why I’m this way.
One thing’s for sure though: I’m meant to stay.

A master of life, is what I am.
A bringer of hope, you understand?
A wielder of peace, not just another piece.
And a saviour…

I am Robert. Welcome to my life.

Goodbye

A goodbye can be said in several ways.
With a word, or an act.
Swift and rude, or slow with tact.
Whatever the way, it’s never right.

People shouldn’t have to leave.
Yet we do. Why?
It usually pains both parties.
So why leave?

The reason is the return.
Seeing each other again makes it worth it.
The pleasure is worth all the pain.
Tenfold.

Lovers, friends, family, enemies…
We all have to do it.
We have to move on.
Without a goodbye, life goes nowhere.

You won’t get used to it.
No matter how often you say it.
Not even a little bit.
But that’s what life is…

One long goodbye, up until the final farewell. It’s preparation.

Rebirth

I’ve been reborn.
My past has been erased.
I have nothing but the future.
I’m a new man.

Depression is gone.
Joy is now.
Sorrow is over.
Life is what I have.

All it took was one person.
One person who could change me.
Who could make me be what I should be.
A human being.

It took me seventeen long years.
But now it’s over.
And it’s time to start again.
With you as my destination.

This time I’ll make something out of it.
I won’t waste this life.
I received a second chance,
So I’m going to use it…

I made a promise to God. This is a life worth the world.

A Smile Upon the World

If you ever see a frown,
Try and turn it upside down.
Whenever in doubt,
Smile.

Be happy, don’t let sadness reign.
Always bring joy to everyone.
Make others realize happiness is the best.
Maybe they’ll join in a large joy-fest.

Cheer another up,
If they’re feeling blue.
They’d do it for you,
And we know that it’s true.

Or at least give them hope.
Hope can lead to happiness.
And eventually happiness can lead to the greatest of all:
Peace.

Let the puddles of despair dry,
And the storms of sorrow clear.
Replace them with times of sunshine,
So they can dry up the tears…

Don’t worry. Be happy.

Title is still pending, but I thought I'd post the beginning to my next poem. I've been at a loss for inspiration lately, so don't kill me =P

The body hurts,
the heart stops.
The mind blurs,
the pressure drops.

Darkness falls,
angels call.
Embrace of Death,
a final breath.

Mwahaha, obviously about death. To be continued =)

The body hurts,
The heart stops.
The mind blurs,
The pressure drops.

Darkness falls,
Angels call.
Embrace of Death,
A final breath.

I wish it would end,
That my will would bend.
I don’t want to feel pain,
I want out of this game.

But it will stop,
There’s no other choice.
But when?
The question crushes my voice.

Paralyzed with fear,
The lost ability to hear.
The time has come,
And my life is done…

It’s all over.

Shot Down

Pierce the flesh,
A hole in the chest.
Front and back,
A deafening crack.

A bullet flew through the air,
The metal sang with a cheer.
Quicker than can be seen,
Evasion is every man’s dream.

To master the shot,
Your mind must be clear.
Feel no emotions,
Shed not a single tear.

It’s not a solution,
Yet still the only way.
It’s always “Don’t mess with me”,
“Or I’ll make you pay.”

The pistol crashes,
His life flashes,
Everything he had was burnt to ashes,
And this is how it’ll be…

A single bullet, for all eternity.
