pikachu is weak to gound types. I would at least get a pokemon to counter Rock/gound types. Maybe Mudkip cause its final form is water/gound. and will take less damage from rock attacks

Actually the Lax Incense is in Veilstone. You need Rock Climb to get it.

Lax incense isn't what lets you get Munchlax. It's Full Incense.

I'm trying to EV train too. c:

This is how I understood it:

EVs [Effort Values] are extra points that raise your stats. They only truly show after the Pokemon becomes high-leveled, but is best to EV train from the beginning, therefore you have complete control of your Pokemon's power.

EVs are gained when you fight Pokemon from the wild, and from trainer battles you find when you step in front of other trainers.

EVs aren't shown on a list or anything; You have to manage your EVs manually-- they're hidden. Each Pokemon can only gain 510 EVs in total.

Each Pokemon has 6 stats: Hit Points, Attack, Defense, Special Atk., Special Def., and Speed-- From each stat, you can only learn up to 252 on each, to balance the game's difficulty.

You obviously don't have that many points to max out /every/ stat. Therefore you make a decision on what you want to focus on your Pokemon, keeping its abilities and moves in mind, and how many points you want to distribute to each stat.

How do you get the EV points? It's accoarding to different Pokemon. For example, everytime you beat a Geodude, you gain 1 point for Defense. Everytime you beat a Machop, you gain 1 point for Attack. But for only every four points you gain in a battle, you gain a true EV point. Therefore, if you were to max out Defense, then you would need to get the number of EV points , and multiply by four. This would mean you would need to battle 1008 Geodudes to max out Defense, and 1008 Machops to max out Attack.

So, it's a point of 510 battles, and choosing the exact type of Pokemon you're fighting in order gain points in the specific stats you want your Pokemon to be based on.

Pokemon That Give HP EVs

Pokemon That Give Attack EVs

Pokemon That Give Defense EVs

Pokemon That Give Speed EVs

Pokemon That Give Special Atk. EVs

Pokemon That Give Special Def. EVs

-- Forgive me if I was incorrect. D:

Edit: Thanks, RyouChan. Is this correct now? c:

You would never bring it to 255, because only every 4 points makes a stat point.
The real "max" is 252.
252 / 252 / 6 is the easiest spread, but not necessarily ever the best.
