Default Nintendo's New Systems: Game Boy Micro and Revolution!

Nintendo's New Systems: Game Boy Micro and Revolution!
-05/17/05-

Nintendo has revealed their next systems: the next Nintendo handheld is the Game Boy Micro, and Nintendo's new console is code-named Revolution

Game Boy Micro
Description: The original Game Boy Advance fits comfortably into the pocket of a backpack. The retooled Game Boy Advance SP fits into a coat pocket. Now Nintendo takes aim at the pocket of your tightest jeans with the tiny Game Boy Micro system, quite simply the smallest and sleekest Game Boy product that Nintendo has ever created. It’s thinner than a cell phone, as chic as an MP3 player and as fun as a Game Boy. In an instant it attracts attention and positions the image-conscious player as someone on the cutting edge of cool.

The sporty, silver metal Game Boy Micro measures a mere 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside today’s hippest technological gadgets. It weighs an astonishing 2.8 ounces, or about the weight of 80 paper clips. Yet Game Boy Micro has the same processing power and plays the same games as Game Boy Advance SP models, complete with standard face controls and gleaming shoulder and Start/Select buttons that literally shine.

Revolution
Description: Each generation of video game consoles builds on the past to set new standards for the future. As the company with the strongest heritage of innovation, Nintendo redefines expectations for all next-gen systems by employing a wide-ranging strategy to attract more kinds of gamers to more kinds of games. When Nintendo’s new console, code-named Revolution, arrives in 2006, everyone will discover the meaning of All-Access Gaming.

It's fairly safe to say that you'll be seeing some Pokemon games for the Game Boy Micro and Revolution, considering Pokemon is Nintendo's best selling title.

A Micro Gameboy? How many times are they gonna remake the GBA?

Ryan, do you have a price yet? If it's expensive, I definitely won't be getting this.

Although...my GBA SP has recently gotten a Dead Pixel, so I might just trade that in for this "Micro" thing when it's released.

No price has been set yet because it was a surprise at the end of there E3 conference. Nobody knew about it until the presenter pulled it out of his shirt pocket at the end.

I don't know if I want a Micro or not... hmmmm I like the simple, sleek design, but I love my SP... hmmm... and of course I will buy Revelution.... but it looks a hell of a lot like PS2 to me...

I really like the sound of the revolution, and I'm sure I'll be buying it as soon as it's available. I do think Nintendo was misleading to say that it's 100% backwards complatible.

Downloading (especially for a fee) versions of games I already own on cart is not exactly the same as backwards compatibility. I would've rather they included add-ons (like the GB player) so you could really use the carts you already own. I've got, like a hundred of them....

Even so, I'll certainly download versions of all the pokemon titles they make available.

Anyway, the Revolution looks great. Nintendo know a thing or two about game consoles, and they know that a bluff would certainly hurt their sales. When they say the Revolution will blow away the competition or the like, I'm sure it will, be it with graphics, better gameplay, or a bigger range of better games.

DVD and GCN capability, built in memory, and it looks cool. That's all I care about, and I can't wait until 2006. GB Micro will also be a good buy if it's cheap (and since I can't find my SP at the moment).

A micro GBA? Sounds cyute. =3 If it's expensive though, I might as well say good-bye to any chance of getting it. Revolution sounds pretty sweet too. Can't wait till they come out! I'll be begging for the Revolution. XD

The Revolution looks awesome, but to me, getting the Game Boy Micro is a pointless waste of money...all it does is play GBA games. I already have a GBA. So what if it has a smaller screen? It doesn't make it worth buying.

The Revolution looks pretty good. And the micro is so small!

Well i plan on getting the Micro. My old SP has been with me for a few years and is getting towards it's retirement. Don't like the look of the Revolution, just like the DS wasn't too hot in my books. But hey, that Micro...
