Default Which starter should I get?

I've just started a new game, and don't know what starter too pick. I'm thinking Mudkip, but it'd be a tad wierd, what with the meme going around... any idea?

I'm not just saying this because Blaziken is my favorite Pokemon, but I'd say Torchic. If it's Combusken by the time you take on Roxanne, the rest will be smooth sailing. (Well, that is, excepting Wallace/Juan.)

I think you should go with Treecko. Sceptile's awesome and has great speed and attack. He has advantage over most of the gyms.

If you want a more balanced team, and want a better shot at taking on gyms, Treecko is the one you want.

If you want a more attack or defense on your team in the long run, Mudkip.

If you want a tougher run through the game, chose Torchic.

Or, and this is what most people do after the first couple towns, trade to get all 3.

I'd say Treecko, even though it's not my favorite pokemon out of the three, it has A LOT of advantage over the gyms!

Pixlepix, you play Diamond to much.
Maybe he won't battle real people. :P
Torchic, because Blaziken is good.

Even though I picked Torchic it's kind of a tie between Torchic & Treecko, not saying that I like Treecko, it's just that Sceptile has good stats.

Torchic since there aren't many great fire types in Hoenn.

Mudkip. I started a new game a while back in my emerald, and It took me SOOO LONG to beat that one dude that gives you the Dynamo badge. The elctric gym. Because you will have a Marshtomp by that time, you are super effective, and his electric attacks don't affect you! You usually want a starter that will help you in the long run. Plus, Swampert is a lot easier to grow up than torchic, so you will have an easier time beating people.

Mudkip is forr the beginners that do not want any challenge.

Blaziken can be weak vs gyms but he learns powerful attacks like uppercut and blaze kick that can own elite4. and he will probably not be your only pokemon when you get to gyms 6-8

My choice is trecko, mainly because he is weak(weak=interesting to play), he can be strong vs last 2 gyms, but at that time you probably have some another pokemons that are good. his only good moves are slam that is not very accurate and leaf blade that is still only 70 damage(compare with blazekick/flamethrower or muddywater/surf)

Pixlepix, that crap is for competitive battling. Mixed sweepers are for competitive battling. He/she's going to play the CPU, and they don't have cleric or sweepers. :P
