Exeggutor Help - Pokemon Forum

Hello all. I've decided on Exeggutor as my grass special sweeper and I think I have a good moveset+EV spread:

Exeggutor @ Leftovers
Modest Nature
252 Special Attack 252 Speed 6 HP
~ Sunny Day (to set up Solarbeam + to have his ability kick in)
~ Solarbeam (To pwn

)
~ Psychic (STAB + solid move)
~ Ancient Power (Egg move. Will help against fire types)

So yea, advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can say about this Eggy is that you might want Sleep Powder over Ancient Power. It will buy you some time to set up Sunny Day given you don't have any one else on your team running it.

But then what do I do if I get screwed and go up against a fire type (let alone a steel type, which AP won't save me from)?

Consider Hidden Power Ground over AP, since it catches Steels and Fires for SE damage.

I'll try, only thing is I cannot figure out for the life of me how to determine HP's type.... I know there is the guide on serebii...

Find a Kecleon and Hidden Power it. CHeck the IVs too. Go Serebii for details, too lazy to fully explain.

Well to gain the full benefit of Sunny Day i'd suggest hidden power fire.

Most "Sunny Beamers" that i use always have a fire type move.

Maybe this pokemon isnt suited as a Sunny Beamer. The opponent may predict this move and switch to a fire type pokemon. If he predicts before sunny day its a free move for him plus a bonus to the damage of fire typed moves. Even if they switch after sunny day, solar beam wouldnt do too much much damage to a fire type.

A Grass type pokemon using this tactic is like using a double edged sword. So I'd personally replace Sunny Day and Solar beam. Maybe use the move Energy Ball which has a base attack of 80.
