Technically, mischief is something that is, like everyone else said, to attract attention, get a point made, or to bring amusement to people at the causes of someone else's misfortune or something else's. But evil is to take mischief to a higher level, and to show a point in a way that may/will/can bring harm to a person mentally, emotionally or physically.

Actually, Hitler could very well have been misunderstood. What he did was undoubtedly mad, but calling him evil I think is a bit much.

Hitler is definitly evil. He's a megalomaniac who thinks that he's better than everyone else and therefore automatically tries to kill everyone who isn't his stereotypical "perfect" lifeform.
On the other hand, mischief makers attempt to bring down jerks by humiliating them without hurting them. Notable mischief makers include Bart Simpson, Bart King(Author of Pocket Guide to Mischief), Abe Linclon, and Pokol DaErran.

He didn't think he was perfect. He thought that the Aryans were perfect. He was part Jewish, short, had brown hair, and came from Austria. He was hardly his "perfect life form".

I'm not defending him. What he did was both incredibly wrong, and it sparked one of the world's worst wars ever. Just I wouldn't call him evil.

I'm thinking:
Mischief is getting some horrible food and making someone eat it.
Evil is getting some poisoned food and making someone eat it.

I agree. What he did was certainly evil, but he wasn't neccasarily (sp) evil.

For the second part, and not telling them it was poisoned. =P

I'm sure if you were at the Holocaust you would think differently. (Not that I was there)

Here's another one;
Mischief is shaking a can of soda and giving it to your friend.
Evil is shaking a can of soda, putting Mentos into it, and giving it to your friend.

Yeah, I think the victims of the holocaust are going to disagree with you on that one. But now that I think of it, maybe Hitler wasn't evil. A very very bad man to be sure, but when you do something and think it's the right thing to do, then you can't really be evil. In his eyes he probably thought of himself as a good guy.

Evil (as well as mischief) is perception driven. What is evil to one person is not necessarily evil to another. Given that this is the case, what Hitler did was undoubtedly evil to to the eyes of many. Thus in a person's perception, Hitler, who is the root of much of these evil doings, is evil. I don't think it's wrong to perceive it this way either.

The epitome of what is considered to be the "white villain" is one that considers himself to be good even though he is doing evil. Because what is good or evil is perception driven, what the actual villain (in this case, Hitler) thinks is irrelevant to how others perceive him. Thus he can still be evil even if he perceives himself as good. As I said, I don't think it's wrong to perceive Hitler as evil either.

Surly: Errrr...well he's not the generic evil I guess...

Yeah, Hilter is like the Walmart of evil.
He's just the go-to evil because it's cheap & convenient.
He's killing all the Mom & Pop evil.
