Well, let's see.. since I just beat 2 Brains last night for Silver Symbols, and Politoed was on both teams (most of the damage caused) I think I should consider bringing him to any battle if I can't decide right away.

Now, for the rest, I think...

Battle Tower: VS...
Alakazam
Entei
Snorlax

I think I'll bring...
Dusclops
Politoed
???

Battle Arena: VS...
Heracross ()
Umbreon
Shedinja

Possibly...
Salamence
Heracross (Heracross VS Heracross)
And maybe Typhlosion ( I taught him Thunderpunch btw)

Battle Palace: VS...
Crobat
Slaking
Lapras

I should probably consider...
Heracross
Sceptile (Thunderpunch & Leaf Blade)
and maybe Dusclops to deal with Slaking?

And then I can't choose between the Battle Factory.

Any improvements?

EDIT:

Also, if you're reading this thread, feel free to put in your own suggestions! I have a whole box of pokes ready and waiting for ideas!

Not much to say in particular, other than perhaps consider Typhlosion or Salamence against the Battle Tower - her Alakazam has, I think, the three elemental punches, which Typhlosion resists or is neutral to, and can hit them all for neutral damage... Salamence can just do stuff (assuming you keep it away from Alakazam). Oh yeah, and I don't recommend Dusclops in the Battle Palace - first off, Slaking's immune to Shadow Punch (right?), and Slaking has Shadow Ball. Maybe put your Metagross to good use. I think Heracross should take care of Slaking... Whatever.

Right... I was thinking more along the lines of this:

Dusclops used will-o-wisp!
Slaking was burned!
Slaking used shadow ball! (attack stat weakened, not same type, high def on dusclops)
Dusclops lives!
Dusclops used Curse! (Maybe death here)
Slaking was cursed!
Slaking goes 'Blaaaah' for a turn.
Slaking is hurt by burn and curse! (1/2 hps gone right there. I know from experience).
Dusclops used... something.

But I think I might switch him out anyways.

Why not try it out, see how it goes? If you have Protect on your Dusclops, three out of four total moves work in your favor when it makes its first move. The main risks are if it decides to do anything at all, which is what the little girl is for, and if it uses the same status move twice in a row.

Also, Heracross and Sceptile are rather vulnerable to Crobat, since they might choose the wrong move and everything goes blah. So Dusclops might find a use there, too.

Alright, I'll see if it works.

But now that you mention it, I do have 2 guys weak to crobat...

Even though Sceptile has really high and Heracross has relatively high speed, who's to say that Crobat, known for its speed, won't outrun them and hit them hard?

Now I'm thinking about Metagross again. Really high D and special D, good attack and decent sp. attack, nice moveset to deal with 2 of 3 pokemon... hmm, but if I put explosion on it, it might be a huge waste if it explodes first turn...

I think I'll try out Metagross for this one instead of Sceptile, and give him a focus band (or whatever leaves 1 hp).

whaddya think?

Focus band is a hax item (I think that means that it relies heavily on luck) that can't really be relied upon. I might recommend Brightpowder if you have it (I think it's also a hax item, increasing evasion rather than occasionally leaving you with 1 HP, but seeing that Crobat apparently has Confuse Ray...), otherwise, um, Focus Band, why not? I'm really not sure what else, though, since you can only have 1 leftovers, etc. per team of 3.

Right now, Rock Slide and Thunder Punch seem to be the two moves I'm obsessing over, so if you don't want Explosion (which is reasonable), you may want to... Consider them? They're both good against Crobat and Lapras... Seeing as you can "buy" more of them, and seeing as your team only goes in groups of 3, and that this particular team doesn't really have a Thunder Puncher. X.x

Edit: Actually, I don't know the actual percentages for Brightpowder and Focus Band. X.x

And since I'm new, please help me around a little in case I make some big mistakes... I'll get the gist of it eventually.

NOW, moving right along:

I have most of the pokemon games, but by far my favourite is Emerald. So, guess what my first post is about? Emerald teams!

So this is my one of my teams (i specialize in lv 50s):
Oh and I don't track EV's so I'll just say what they're meant to do and good at.

Edited Movesets
Gekkoman (Sceptile male) @ Lefties
Meant to be special sweeper.
-Leafblade
-Thunderpunch (deal with flying types)
-Pursuit
-Dragonbreath
Try pursuit out.

Typhlosion male @ White Herb
Another Special Sweeper
- Flamethrower
- Thunderpunch)
- Overheat
- Rock Slide
Swift is normal, and normal is physical. so no on a Sp.Sweeper.

Politoed male@ Mystic Water
Special Wall and Attacker, good HP
- Surf
- Hypnosis
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
Nice.

Heracross male (Yaya!)
Physical Sweeper. Good Special D. too.
- Reversal
- Megahorn
- Rock Slide
- Brick Break
Try this out.

Clip-Clops (Dusclops female)@ lefties
My best wall.
- Shadow punch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Curse
Yeah. Cuz it can.

Imadragon (Salamence male)
I don't really know why he's here. I guess just because its a dragon.
- Dragon Claw
- Crunch
- Flamethower
- HP Grass
Cuz it can.

If someone nice could come help me with some constructive criticism, that would be great.

... Yeah I'm not the best guy out there. But who is?

Thanks in advance!
Dere you go.
