Yeah, I press A and B repeatedly most times, and, just like many of you, because I read it somewhere that it helps. Sometimes, I just hold A and B down together. For some reason, I think that if you hold A and B down just as you are throwing your pokéball, it highly increases the chances. I really don't know if it works. I think it does...so I guess I'll keep doing it, ha!

It always took me a long time catching legendaries, but I did catch an Articuno last week in my Leaf Green, I captured it the first time I threw a ball at, but it was paralyzed and had yellow health. BUT I used a pokeball, and I used a really wierd sequence with the buttons it involved holding A/B and using the directional buttons, I captured Moltres in a pokeball too, using a slighty different sequence. (on Moltres i bought 54 pokeballs XD)(And had 18 left when I finally captured it.XD) Every single time I encounter a pokemon I ALWAYS try to catch them using a button sequence.

even though it doesnt help whatsoever, i usually press the a button rapidly while the ball is flying throught the air, then i give it a "tap" when the ball lands, and every time it shakes.

So: it be like:

aaaaaaaaaaaa ...........a................a..............a...... .........a YOU CAUGHT YADI YADA

it has not effect, it just calms me for some reason

It doesn't help. I've tried it a few times, and had more success when I DIDN'T do it XD
If you want to catch a Pokemon, use better Balls, get its health into the red, and inflict a status conditon-all non-superstitious ways of increasing your chances!

Of course, there's always a random variable. On the topic of full-HP catches, I caught a full-HP Magikarp with no status conditions with a Poke Ball once. (Of course, that was probably just cause it was a Magikarp.)
