How It Works
-
The submission period starts today, Wednesday, March 18th and ends exactly forty days from now, on Sunday, April 26th. Send your story to me with both your name and your partner's name at the top, via either private message or e-mail (thegalleonman@aim.com). Make sure your story is edited to your satisfaction, and that includes formatting, so it's a good idea to preview your story before sending it to me.
-I don't care when or how you partner up. Just send me your story when you're ready. I won't be keeping a list of who all is entered.
-The stories will be posted by me on Monday, April 27th, at which time, voting will commence. How voting will work, exactly, will be decided once the entry period is done, along with prizes.
-Don't go for anything tougher than 'Complex' rank. This rule is to ensure that prizes are worth the effort. Remember, just because you can't
capture higher ranked Pokemon, doesn't mean they can't be in your story. A story isn't good because of what Pokemon it tries to capture. Be creative.
- Stories MUST be at least 15K (15,000 characters) in length. There is no maximum limit.
- The story may be for any number of Pokemon (Complex or lower), regardless of length, but the stories will not be graded. However, entrants whom are not awarded a prize may submit their stories for grading once the contest is finished.
- Only two people may work together (yes, this means no three-person stories). Both must be involved. How you write the story is up to you. You may split it and each write half, or take turns, or write every bit of it together.
-All other
URPG story rules apply.
-Stories will be posted by me in order to keep the authors anonymous. So please, don't tell anyone else about your story or even hint at which story you are. If you're caught breaking this rule, you lose, my friend. Big time. >:B
Voting
Voting shall now commence. There are only four stories, but they're pretty long, so you guys have two weeks to submit your votes to me via private message. More specifically, that means voting will end on Friday, May 15th. Also, since there are only four stories, please vote for all of them, ranking them from your favorite to least favorite (please indicate your ranking order clearly). If you entered a story, you may vote, but you only need to vote for the other three (your story will receive +4 points when you vote, as was done in the WWC). And yes, you do need to provide short summaries of the stories in your votes. Not looking for an essay here. Just a few sentences about the story. Voters will receive $4,000 for their efforts (yes, even if you entered).
The Prizes
1st Place: Each writer can claim a Demanding Rank capture or lower, along with $10,000
2nd Place: Each writer can claim a Complex Rank capture or lower, along with $8,000
3rd Place: Each writer can claim a Complex Rank capture or lower, along with $6,000
