Choice Band just makes Phione even easier to setup on.

That's not even including the potential damage you are incurring from a free Dragon Dance to either Salamence or Gyarados.

I believe you're supposed to use the new Challenge Finder as more of a stats thread for all WiFi battle-related stuff. =]

x3 I like how you two had a big Phione chat while I was gone.

Choice Specs set has the same Special Attack as a Choice Band set would have Attack.

And it's all about synergy. I might well have a counter for those Dragon Dancers you were talking about

I don't currently have a team with Phione in it, but if I did, I'd probably include Porygon2.

Traces Intimidate from both Salamence and Gyarados and can hit Gyarados hard with Thunderbolt and Salamence hard with Ice Beam.

Synergy has nothing to do with countering things. Synergy is actually through the ability to switch based on your resistances.

If you're versing an offensive team, you would get ripped apart because that Porygon or Bronzong would be heavily weakened after its attack. Thus, the next physical Pokemon that came in would easily plow right through. The very essence of this fact shows that a choice item on Phione is a bad idea.

Just because Phione may be viable due to an increase in power from Choice Band, that doesn't mean it's usefulness in a team is any more.

You were saying Phione was set-up fodder. If something switched in on Phione, such as Salamence, Gyarados, etc., I would switch to a viable counter to the DD sets, as they would obviously try to set up. In which case, Porygon2 wouldn't get hurt at all, because they would be using DD. And they wouldn't dare attack the next turn with +0 Attack, in fear of getting destroyed by Ice Beam or Thunderbolt.

Always fear the worst is my motto.
