Pokemon yet again proved that its popularity is still among the best. Pokemon Emerald was named the second best selling game of 2005 by the NPD Group:

New Screenshots and Videos of Pokemon Ranger!

The official Japanese Pokemon website has been updated with new screenshots of Pokemon Ranger. You can view the page here: http://www.pokemon.co.jp/game/ds/ranger.html (In Japanese)

Pokemon Ranger will be released in Japan on March 23rd, 2006. There is currently no official US release date available.

PokePark DS Available Exclusively at Walmart!

The PokePark themed Nintendo DS is now being sold exclusively at Walmart. You can view the product page here: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=4457229

The metallic blue Nintendo DS has a PokePark logo on the cover and a shilhouette of Pikachu on the right side of the top screen. Walmart is selling the PokePark DS for the same price as their normal DS systems, for $129.82.

PokePark DS History

The PokePark DS was orginally sold in Japan back in May 2005 to celebrate the PokePark. The PokePark was a temporary theme park in Japan which lasted for a 192 days from March 18th, 2005 through September 25, 2005.

Pokemon TCG: EX Legend Maker!

The Pokemon Trading Card Game: EX Legend Maker will be released in February 2006. The prerelease tournaments will be held during Feburary 4th-5th and February 11th-12th.

Happy new year everybody! With 2006 now here, there's plenty to look forward to! Here are some things you can expect from Pokemon in 2006:

Pokemon Trozei (March 6, 2006)

Pokemon Trozei, the Pokemon puzzle game, will be making the first splash for Pokemon in 2006 on the Nintendo DS. It will be released in the US on March 6, 2006. For more info: Pokemon Trozei

Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon (2006, probably soon after Trozei)

Next comes Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon Blue Rescue Force and Red Rescue Force (official English names not yet determined) for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. The Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon titles were released just a month later after Trozei, so expect the Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon titles to be released soon after the US release of Trozei. Pokemon Ranger (2006 - Japan Release Date)

Pokemon Ranger will probably be released sometime near the 9th Pokemon movie (Pokemon Ranger and the Price of the Sea) the release date in Japan is set for July 2006. There's currently no official US release date. For more info: Future Games

Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl (2006 - Japan Release Date)

And finally, the biggest game of them all, Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will be the first Pokemon RPG games for the Nintendo DS, which will feature a whole new region and new Pokemon as well. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl is set to be released in Japan sometime in 2006. For more info: Future Games

2006 Pokemon World Championships (August 18-20, 2006)

Another new year means another year of the Pokemon World Championships for the Pokemon Trading Card Game. This year's World Championships will be held at Anaheim, California, in August. (For more information about organized play, go to the official website: http://op.pokemon-tcg.com/)

Pokemon Movies

Here in the US, we're still awaiting for the release of the 8th Pokemon movie: Mew and the Wave Guiding Hero, which should be released in the US sometimes this year. Japan will release the 9th Pokemon movie, Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea, this year on July 15, 2006. For more info: Future Movies
