Skarmory moveset?

It's not lvl 100 yet, just to clarify..

It's moves are:
Steel wing
Spikes
Roar
Torment/Thunder wave (unsure yet)

So...like, is it alright?

I guess it all depends on what you're working towards. Most people use Skarmory as a strong lead and physical wall.


I've heard of some builds where Skarmory doesn't even have real offensive move (I think it was Torment/Roost/Spikes/Protect)

Thats a nice set though I don't think roar is all that necessary. Instead you could go for flash cannon for another attack move. if you are playing pokemon Diamond and have beaten Byron of Canalave City, then he must have given flash cannon as TM 91.

I got a Skarmory at Pearl, this was its moveset

-Steel Wing/Double Team
-Fly
-Swagger
-Toxic
Holds: Leftovers

Special sweepers were my greatest fear ever, but most of the times Skarmory faces physical sweepers and so it has enough turns to use Double Team and escape of them as long as they're fainting by Toxic

Swagger ought to help they lose the turn, but you should be warned that some physical attacks are super effective on Skarmory (Thunderpunch, Fire Punch, for example)

Any natue that lowers Sp Attack and raises another stat will be welcome, but raising Defense, Attack and Speed is the best

Finally, I want say that my Skarmory focus on offensive and evasivenss being a semi physical sweeper
