The grassy expanse rippled as the soft breeze played through it. Both of the Trainers were mere silhouettes in the harsh sunlight (not to be confused with the weather condition). The ref stepped proudly onto the field, fired up to ref her first battle. Both Trainers pulled back PokeBalls and sent out two rather small Pokemon. The blazed down as the ref whistled loudly for the battle to commence.

Pichen was slightly faster and raced forward, his tiny pink cheeks sparking with electricity. He closed his eyes and concentrated, shooting the electricity out at Gulpin. The electricity wasn't strong enough to cause physical pain, just maybe cripple a little. The electricity arced through the air across the field and struck Gulpin squarely in the feather, using it like a lightningrod to send it into his body. It seeped into the green, sludge-like skin of Gulpin, leaving the Pokemon with a strange, stiff feeling. Pichen squeaked with approval and braced himself for the next attack.

Gulpin took a deep breath, calming himself and his electrified nerves. He closed his eyes and seemingly meditated, drawing the deepest and most powerful energy from inside himself. He began to glow orange as he processed the energy and turned it into fuel. He could feel his slimy green skin get harder, as he protected himself against attacks. Pleased with his defenses, he shrunk down and rejoined reality, his bright orange glow fading into nothingness.

Pichen quickly plotted his next move, drawing the tiny bit of water power that was inside his electric body. He looked up to the sky, planted both his feet firmly on the ground and... began to dance. He swayed his hips and rocked back and forth, performing some sort of weird ancient dance for the sky. As Pichen tangoed and waltzed, rain began to fall from the sky, first little droplets, and then harder until a heavy blanket of rain covered the grassy battlefield. Perhaps Pichen's dance had worked. Or perhaps it was Arceus crying.

Gulpin drew back and glowed purple, pulling all the vile and trash inside it into its mouth until it had a grimy heap of sludge. He tossed it around for a second, then released it, a brilliant arc of purple sludge streaming through the air towards Pichen. The rodent cowered for a moment, and then went flying backwards from the impact of the poisonous attack. Pichen landed face-down on the grass, and struggled quickly to his feet. Aeon could tell something was wrong, however, by the faint purple line across the bridge of Pichen's nose - the little Pichu had been poisoned by the blow.

The rain pattered down softly on the field, which was becoming muddier by the minute. His cheeks sparked with electricity and he shot it at Gulpin - much, much stronger than when he had used Thunder Wave earlier. It soared through the air, guided to its target by the blowing winds and frigid rain. It zeroed in on Gulpin and fried him with twice the power of a normal Thunder - it had apparently struck a weak spot, resulting in what some people called a critical hit. Gulpin recovered and burbled angrily, electrified inside and out. Time for revenge.

Gulpin drew back and glowed purple, pulling all the vile and trash inside it into its mouth until it had a grimy heap of sludge. Pichen recognized this attack and grimaced. Just like before tossed it around for a second, then released it, another arc of purple sludge flew through the air. It smashed straight into Pichen, sending him back to the ground. The mouse struggled to his feet, swaying from the impact and quite ready to end this fight. The sound of Aeon's voice calling an attack snapped him back into focus.

Pichen drew even more electricity from inside him and struck out again, zapping Gulpin with as much energy as he could muster. No matter how hard Gulpin tried to dodge, the storm drew it to him as if he were a lightningrod. Pichen finally let up, leaving Gulpin dazed. Gulpin grew slightly bigger and Pichen sighed... again? Gulpin, as predicted, spit out a slew of poisonous goop that engulfed Pichen. The Pichu and Gulpin ended the round being very sick of poison and electricity respectively.

Hmm... We want tip-top accuracy, don't we Pichen? Keep the nasty secondary effect away - and preserve SOME health - and use a Substitute @ 5%. If he IS parred for the Mudslap, we curse our bad luck, rejoice at the good opportunity, and use Encore. If Mudslap IS used, then Confuse them with Sweet Kiss.
