mewtwo's mission?

hey, the episode appeared where ash gets his eigth badge and giovannie goes off in a hurry and tells mewtwo that he has an emergency assignment for him, what is that assiagnment????? ive seen all the eps that made it to the u.s and not one told of the assignment,did i mss an ep???? :eek: :eek: :eek:

Eh? Oo;....I think I may have missed that part in that episode...

Though, I guess it doesn't matter, seeing as by that time, Mewtwo had broken free and started on his quest to wipe out all of humanity ^^;;...

The 8th Badge Events Happen Approx the same time as the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, That was when Mewtwo Escaped. The Assignment was when Giovanni knowed that Mewtwo Escaped which Left Jessie And James In Charge.

Think of the Movie as a Side Quest :P

Ab... all the movies are sidequests :P Most of them do not effect the show at all... at least to my knowledge... heh. And I don't know what you are talking about... I don't remember Giovanni giving Mewtwo an assignment... I remember him giving the duo an assignment... but not Mewtwo... :think:

I don't know. From what I remember that's the scene where Mewtwo leaves. In the movie you see Mewtwo thrash Gary's Pokemon and I think in that episode Mewtwo also escapes, or later. But I do recall a special quest... ._.;

Yeah, Mewtwo Strikes Back is really the only movie that tied in with the plot of the series....Though, seeing as Mewtwo erased all memory of the event from Ash and co.'s minds, the writers can pretend it never happened....
Though they really have no explanation for other events in the series (you think Ash would have flipped out over seeing Entei or Lugia again).

Actually it's true, the only movie who follow the series is the first one. You only have to look at the othe ones as a mean to get a looooot of money ^^U.

Yeah I've always wondered that as well. I always figured it had to do with Mewtwo being used to capture the Tauros (first movie) or there was some emergency/conflict with another organization or something in which Mewtwo's powers would be needed. I mean Giovanni seemed pretty ticked off when he got that phone call and so it had to be something fairly serious. But yeah, I haven't thought about it in a long time lol. But seeing this thread makes me wonder again... :think:

Heh... when I was first watching the movie in theaters... the part where Fearow flies overhead... I thought something was wrong with the film... when it got all staticy and such... lol

Yeah... I wish those silly creators would tie in the movies with the anime... we don't ever hear ash talk about the Lugia and legendary birds... don't you think that that would be a big deal? XD

Well, in the one episode of the Lugia special Ash had mentioned that they saw a Lugia before but yeah, you'd think he'd be all excited and stuff and not like "oh I saw Ho-oh and Lugia" with like no emotion really. :confused: But yeah, it really is annoying how the movies don't tie in very well with the series....

In the movie where mewtwo fights all the pokemon, you see Gary and his Nidoking and Arcanine.
Also Gary's pokedex went all fuzzy when he looked it up.

Eh, the special assignment wasn't cause Mewtwo escaped. In the episode after he left Jessie and James in charge he went in the back room where he keeps all his pokes (like Cloyster and stuff) and walked up to Mewtwo and said he had an assignment for him. He then "unplugged him" from that machine thing that powers the armor stuff. Then TR destroyed the gym.

In Mewtwo Strikes Back, Mewtwo destroyed the second (new) base built quickly after the gym's destruction.... Mewtwo's mission was never explained. Also, in the TV show, the one ‘poke corral’ ep, TR had to visit Giovanni by order and they were so afraid of what he might say about their failed missions and horrible work that they said “we quit” while standing on the road leading up to the base. The right when they turned around, the base blew up and they saw Mewtwo escape. Then they ran over to help Giovanni and then he quickly left with his Persian in a helicopter.
