Rumour or truth? the end of Ash!

I don't know if this is simply a good rumour or the truth? I read in some site, that Ash, wouldn't be the main character in the 4th generation PKM anime.
Ash returns to Pallet and becomes a gym leader, Brock returns to his Gym in Pewter, May opens a fashion competion for pokemon and Max studys with his father to become the next Petalburg gym leader. The new main character name is Yoko, I hope they change his name, because, it's a monkey name :razz: . I don't if it is true or not? :confused:
But is about time, to change the main character of the anime.

You only say that because your a fan of Ash, how do you know that is fake?
The biggest star is Pikachu, and I hope that is true, because, the show may lose fans. See this away, they need do increase the fans, they need to rennovate the show, changing the characters is one away. Each season of Digimon has different characters, so they can remain fresh and popular. Because, if they use the same characters all over again, is going to be the same old thing but in a different region, and if you love the animes, that would be the ruin of the series, they would start to loose audience, and you know, no tv stations bets in shows with low raitings. And the creators of the anime, must show that, they still have new ideas :happy: . I say this as Poke Fan :happy:

I heard this a little while ago, but then let's remember that Satoshi wasn't supposed to be in AG either, and yet here he is. Let's face it though, Satoshi is the classic human character in Pocket Monsters. They can bring in new characters to go with him, but it would never be the same without Satoshi. Like him or hate him, he belongs in the star position of the show. I would be VERY upset to hear this rumor become reality, so I seriously hope that Satoshi is always there.

IF they were to change the character, would they use May, or possibly use the girl sprites put into the Pokemon Games? Pokemon GSC had the girl character they called Kris, Pokemon RS had May, and Pokemon FR/LG has the girl wearing this white hat (don't know what name they had for her). Would they want to switch directions and have a girl on a journey? If May was on the journey, Max probably would be with her. If it's another girl, who would they have with her? Ash and Misty were written quite well, but I can just imagine the wild rumors fans always thought of, and still do today.

I still though the removal of Ash could hurt the show because fans relate to him like they relate to characters on long running shows. Everybody knows HOmer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie by heart on long running Simpsons. Taking one of them away would hurt the show.

I've look'd all over serebii.net and found nothing on this which makes it so far, a rumor towards a fake. I right now can't put my hand in ether pocket, but I can see Ash getting replaced cause when Gonbe first appeared every one said he'd be the Pika'replacer so if they got rid of Pikachu Ash would have to go to. Personally I think they should make an alternate series (for kids, for teens) sorta thing.

I've actually heard that Pikachu might die during the Groudon & Kyogre fight, but seriously, that'd upset a lot of little kids, thus it will never come true. Same for Ash leaving; He won't as longtime fans of the show would be upset.

Besides, what is it people hate about him? His voice? His density when it comes to the opposite sex? The fact he has a heart, and cares for his Pokemon more than he cares for his lifelong dream? You have to realise that Ash is one of the nicest people in the Pokemon world, and unlike others, he's special (I mean, come on. He's met Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, the 3 Legendary Birds, Entei, Unowns, Celebi, Latios, Latias, Jirachi, Deoxys, Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, etc). Without Ash, the show would be nothing, unless they made the new character a direct copy of him.

Ash will be here to stay, though try not to get having a heart confused with stupidity.

That would be traumatic and horrifying to see Pikachu done. From what I have seen in the Pokemon movies, except for the Latios/Latias, great care is taken in not to let the Pokemon/or trainer die for that would be traumatizing based on the audience of kids. It's best to have Pokemon move on or be released rather then to see it die. Of course for Pikachu, it can never be released. I still remember that classic episode with the Pikachu family, Ash tried to release Pikachu, yet Pikachu never wanted to go and the reunion with Ash was magical. It made me shed a tear of a boy being reunited with his long lost pet, tops that of Lassie come home any old time on Pokemon to see that classic episode of Ash/Pikachu together again. Off subject a little bit, seeing that particular episode always made me no matter what to get Pikachu on my journey on any Pokemon game. When I first played GSC, I made sure to get to Viridian Forest no matter what to get my Pikachu. Back on the subject, Ash is a very important caring character. Yeah, any feelings he has to Misty or May, well, they're hidden. I'm sure for May in my opinion it's only friendship, but the feelings regardless are hidden for it's about Pokemon, not a soap series.

Ash is a great character, sort of reminds me a little bit of Xena, minus the fighting of course, but he has great companions, goes to different towns, and like Xena, rights a wrong (without the major sword fight of course), but finds a way in using Pokemon or even talking to that person. LIke he helped PRyce open his heart, and willing to team with Claire to get her prized Dragon Fang back, and he's always willing to take on Team Rocket (Nuisance of course) and standing up to Team Aqua/Magna. He may not don a superhero's suit of course, but Ash is still great to watch.

ALso, the Jirachi movie was taken with care. Jirachi just went to sleep for another 1000 years, it never died.

That's what I think. The Pokemon anime is about Satoshi's quest to become a Pokemon Master. And he still has a long ways to go. You can't just cut off his quest like that.

Heh... the thing that bugs me about Ash is that he seems annoying... yes he is caring and such... but I still ifnd him annoying... Though I have a feeling he is here to stay :susp:

The ideal situation would to have Ash grow older, and have him act more mature. Sure he could laugh and do some funny things, but in all, his overconfidence should be replaced with determination, and his actions and their results should be based more off of being prepared and using strategy rather than raw luck and random choices. Make him smarter, and not so willing to do foolish things. Make him have evolved Pokemon, rather than sticking always with the starters from all the games.

And DA, if they killed of Pikachu, they would be killing off the star of the entire show, which would definitely turn off a lot of watchers and likely result in several people giving up Pokemon completely. I highly doubt that's going to happen.

they dont need tp change the charectors. just different situations, a different goal perhaps. im so sick of badges and team rocket i could shoot myself. by team rocket i meen the orginization, not jess, jim and meowth. i dont know if they would ever be good friend with ash but they dont have to b enemys. as much as ash bugs i think he should stay because when it comes down to it i would prolly be sad without him.

I hope Ash stays, it just wouldn't be the same w/o him. I do think they should make a spin-off series though with either the trainers from FR/LF or those people from the Raikou special.

Ash isn't going anywhere. -_- Nothings happening to Pikachu. -_- The plot sucks too much for them to change anything. =P

I hope it's not true either. I love Ash, though I wish he was a little more comical or more serious, one or the other. I don't like the luke-warm state he is presently in. That's why I love May. She's always innocently funny.
