Ok here it is.
The elite rules of having a full restore in battle is totally stupid. Look lets have a fake scenario. Imagine Mana was an elite and Harry was challenging. Just say he was about to kill snorlax after 2 hours of battling with Starmie, when Mana uses full restore. You know how annoying that’d be? Very I can tell you.
It totally undermines battles and I know that this place is trying to stick to the game as close as possible but this isn’t sticking to the game realistically. Think about it. When you face the elites and they use full restore, say Lance did, this is totally different from the urpg. When facing lance you have only one strategy and that’s icebeam icebeam icebeam. If they restore then keep doing it till they run out. In the urpg this gets harder as the elite 4 here have different pokemon making the battle pointless having full restore. It just makes it take longer when it’s not necessary because if one person can do it the other can which as I said makes it pointless!
Post your views here and hopefully if this gets enough support to ban full restore from elite battles, then it will happen and they will have more meaning to them.

Well, yes, you're kinda right there. I feel it should be more like link battles where no items are allowed at all. Hmm.

Personally one of the things I love about the URPG is not being able to use items because it means you have a fairer match. However, since items are allowed in Elite battles, that obviously means that both battlers have agreed to the use of items and so they can't really complain if a situation like the one Dap described occurs. In an Elite battle with items allowed, both battlers will be expecting the use of Full Restore, so they just need to find a way past it.

WEll... that would suck... wpouldn't it? Heh...
I can see the point that Phoenix has... Both players have access to items, like Full Restore, so only those who don't have FR will be complaining.... But I like the relation to 'link battles' that Raik made. I feel that there should be no items period in the URPG.... except for evolutionary items of course..... but that is just me... I have yet to see any trainer use a healing item... but then again... things may have changed during my URPG Hiatus.

I only vote yes b/c I think it's a cheap way to win.

I'm on the fence with this one. The battles take long as it is, and that item prolongs the battle even more. I dunno, maybe that item only should not be used......

I like it better when it's link battle style, since it's not just full restore that can prolong a match, but what about all the Hyper potions? Max Elixers? Guard spec? etc. Just because I restored 200 HP instead of 369 doesn't make my pokemon any less dangerous. Besides, no ref would want to ref a battle that long XD (I believe Curt reffed the Harry vs Me battle that took so long we ended up drawing...)
btw dap, nice example XD

Elites choose whether whether they want to use items in the battle. So, let's just leave it at that lol.

well the elite four is ment to be a hard match. It's to test your skills to the max. I do know matchs go on for awhile. But Ultra hasn't followed all the rules following the correct pokemon way. This is just another example. So I'm netural on this, because I don't care and I see both ways :P

it should be a head to head competition and if the elite use heal a lot of the time the battle will get boring!!!!

Um, it is head to head competition, the Elite and the battler get whatever item they want. Plus, the Elite can't use heal the WHOLE time, we only get one.

Are we going to get a verdict on this? Or is it just going to drift to the bottom like every other trainer court thread? :ermm:

yeah i guess, some might be overwhelmed.
but as long as you don't knock them into yellow zone, they won't use full restore.
anyone else notice that after using full restore, the pokemon becomes weaker to attacks? like if an ice beam left it with 10 HP and the trainer uses a full restore, ice beam would OHKO it next time.

not sure that last part is true, rainfall. :ermm: doesn't seem right and ive never heard that before. lol.
ok, uh, verdict i guess.
im still unsure about the items, because they've always been able to use them for Elites ever since i joined. and i like the idea of Elites using items to make the battle tougher (it aint easy to win ya know). so....
... items in Elite battles will be optional. The Elites may choose to use them or not. i'll let them decide.

for me it's been that way. even when i use full-restore on my own pokemon they seem to become weaker and attacks do more damage to them than before =d

Rainfall, that is because of the random number, that determines how much damage an attack does. Sometimes it does more than other times, so, you definately notice it when you get hit. Then you use a Full Restore, then a different number is chosen, so it's a different amount of damage.
