Kent woke up from another night of restless sleep. School was ending and the annual contest that would allow one student the trip of a lifetime was today. When he went down stairs he saw breakfast on the table. As he ate he quickly watched the news."And in other news; a new world has just been discovered and seems seemingly harmless. It will be visited by a group of children for a vacation trip today at 5:00 P.M." the newsreporter said. Kent felt so hyper; he was sure he would go. When he got to school he saw the commotion. Girls in groups giggling more than usual. Guys watching the girls. The teachers watching all the students. The lights went out. Everybody started screaming and panicking and as easily as they went out they turned on again. Kent was used to this; it wasn't the first time, although some people still acted like it was.
At the end of school the whole school assembled for the choosing. The principle started talking to all the students. Oh, great. Kent thought. Another time-consuming and retarded lecture. After the speech the principle anounced the winner."And the winner; the one who gets to go-with a group of others- to this new world is.... Kent Uzumota!!!" Kent felt as if he was going to faint.
